Apparently been released by the yams. If so all I can say is what an absolutely bizarre decision?! Only reason I can think of is he isn't a Levein type midfielder. Maybe doesn't kick opposition players hard enough. As I said, if this is true it's a head scratcher to me...

He tries to play football, Levein doesn't

Good player. We should sign him.

Said this on the Greggs thread - he doesn't really fit into the hatchet job midfield (effective though it appears) at Hearts but would be a perfect fit for us on a bosman, particularly if you consider that McGeoch and Allan probably won't be here for ever. Anyway, can't see it happening as he probably fancies the premiership and would get a lot of aggro signing for city rivals.

Is this true seems a strange one if so given I am assuming his contract isnt up.

Always thought he was a good player.

If he's willing to sign for us then it's a no brainer. Levein's lost his mind AGAIN. Holt's one of their best players - if not THE best player. Bizarre indeed.

Not that I can see it happening but definitely agree with Holt. Definitely disagree with Robinson.

Good number 10. Bit of a luxury player though, wouldn't fit into the formation we currently play.

Hearts want money for him.

Yep that is clear when you read Neilson's comments.

Tip of the diamond in midfield I would have thought would be his position? Would allow us to drop Allan deeper again...

Is he not pally with a few u20s?
Think him and Forster are pals. Won't make him sign obviously.

Very generous of Yams giving away a £10m player. Typical of Levein, he prefers the cloggers like Buaben & Gomis. If he goes to DU I can't see Yams getting any money as they'll just sit until end of season unless Celtc fork out now for GMS. Reading between the lines here I don't think the PBS coffers are overflowing!

---Robertson----
Mcgeouch ----- Allan
- ---Holt----

would be a great midfield 4.

can't see him coming to us though

It is clear with Gomis, Bawbag and Pallardo that the Levein-Neilson plan is to foul their way out of central midfield. Holt is far too much of a ball player to fit into the Yams plans, especially now they have Nade II. Going to the Arabs can only be a step up.

My main point was I can't believe they don't think this lad is better than the kickers they have playing just now. But we all know how potter likes to play and Holt isn't that kind of player. In my opinion Holt is better than any midfielder they have and Nielson can say all he wants about him wanting games but he picks the players potter tells him to. But Nielson will just be happy to be in the dug out after stabbing his mate Locke in the back....

This intrigues me, I was told we were interested In a player from hearts and when pressed was told holt.....I laughed it off a the time (last week). Who knows

“Brad is similar. He played a lot of games last year but’s not played a lot this year.”

In other words, Neilson prefers to play Alim "But'snot" Ozturk

I agree with you but they've been winning games so you can't argue too much with it, although I'd much rather watch Holt than the cloggers.

IMO it seems like there is possibly more to this than Neilson suggests, ie could it be that things didn't go well in terms of contract talks and Holt has since huffed/been frozen out to a certain extent?

Not like Levein to be huffy

Where is Holt's best position?
Is he a holding midfielder? Can see him being the type of player that Stubbs will like

I have only seen Holt when he's played against us, a couple of times he's done well. Is he any better than what we currently have, if so who and would he get in our team?

I'd say the tip of the diamond in the formation we've been playing would suit him down to the ground.

Not seen him that much but the Jambo's I know really rate him.

Not better than we have.

I'm not sure he is, I think he's quite a tidy midfielder with an eye for a pass.

Like I said, I've not really seen much of him other than when he's played against us but my Jambo mates really rate him. They'd be annoyed if he signed for us I reckon.

I think Holt would be a good signing, but unless somebody at ER is going to stump up the dosh it ain't going to happen. Robinson...well maybe. Is he the one hibby in their team? Can't remember if it was him or someone else.

Holt would be a good addition if we couldn't keep McGeouch. Am I right in saying that if they've not offered him a new deal on the same terms (or more) then he goes for nowt?? As for Robinson - no ta.
