Seems from today's Scotsman that only shareholders or Hibs supporters will be allowed to buy shares. How can I prove that I support Hibs?

Bit **** that rule if someone wants to buy a present for someone.

Anyone any idea why that rules in place? Can understand it for ticket sales but what way would a non hibs supporter benefit from buying shares?

Presumably to stop A Mike Ashley type from buying up a load of shares, and to fulfil the proposition that the club would go to the supporters.

Are there any Hibs supporters not on the database? It's been up and running for years.

We've not been short of semi finals and finals over the years so the opportunity has been there!

Probably restrictions put in place by the FCA last year which made it difficult for non sophisticated investors to buy shares in unlisted companies. By marketing them without approval Hibs could get in deep ****. Sure they will be getting that worked on.

Existing shareholders will be exempt from these rules and a supporter from the data base could argue an emotional purchase.

It won't be Hibs that are the problem here.

It's no drama I just thought it seemed an unnecessary rule.

Sure in the case of it being a present hibs will apply common sense.

It's not a public offering so it has to be limited in some way - also the remit is to esnure fan ownership.

The database can't be too bad a starting point -most supporters will surey have had occassion to get themselves on that at some point. Certainly most that would be interested in buying shares.

Transfer of the shares later is likely to be less of an issue - that would be one way of gifting if someone really isn't going to be eligible to buy them.

The ability to howl abuse at Hibs players for 90 minutes should prove you're a hibby.

You're right, most will be on it but there could be a few that aren't. I'll be on it because I've had a season ticket before but my Dad has arranged tickets for most games I've been at over the last couple of years (either for resticted/advanced sales, cup finals etc., or just to get a seat near his season ticket).
