Although I suppose an all Mersey FA cup final would be a nice ending for Stevie G. Not that Liverpool are good enough to get there just now but it would be a cracking finale pumping them again in the final.

They could all be draws at the end of the second half though, any of which would pump a a bet on 4 homes.

I think the point he's making is that whilst the goalkeeper left a decent gap for him to aim at, it still took exquisite skill from Mirallis to place the ball in it.

Again, I quite like Owen, and I have no time for pish summarisers. Just accused the referee of bottling a major decision - not standard co-commentator stuff IMO.

Maybe so but by saying the goalies made an arse of it he is taking away from it.

Fair play for him hammering the red - especially when it was the linesman that got it wrong.:greengrin

But he's not really taking away from it - the goalkeeper has to hedge his bets as to where the ball might end up, and as such has left a decent space for a strike at goal. Owen has simply summarised that the keeper invited an attempt on goal, but that it still took a superb piece of skill to score. Fair comment IMO.

Pretty certain most of these West Ham penalties would have been retaken had they been missed, considering how far the Everton goalkeeper was from his line before the kick was taken.

He was closer to the edge of the 6yd box when he saved Downing's penalty, oh well. He should've just let Nolan's shot in at the end of the 90 mins as I had Hammers to win and both teams to score.
