Good Afternoon

The Hibs.net football team (Hibeernian) are looking to improve our fitness after all the christmas celebrations. Our training has really just been 5's & 7's games and to be honest it's not cutting it.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any suitable boxing clubs, gyms, spinning classes that I could contact. Even any personal trainers on here that are able to assist.

Need somewhere that is going to be able to take about 15 of us at one time.

Got a settled squad now after a few hiccups but fitness is key at the mo.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Gus

Craig McEwan at Clovenstone boxing club runs fitness classes daily.

Been a few times and it's tough going, sure he'd try and accomodate a private sessions. Good Hibs lad as well. They are on Facebook so could try messaging them through that or give them a call on 453 4561.

Is he still fighting?

He retired last year after a loss in New York in a fight he took at about 8 days notice but I believe he changed his mind. He's just signed up with a new manager and is looking to get a few fights this year.

Really feel for him. He was well up on the scorecards against Andy Lee (now a world champion) when he was knocked out in the 10th round and bot sure he ever really recovered from that. He boxed on a few of Alex Arthurs shows in Edinburgh after he moved home but after they dried up so did his opportunities. He was pretty frustrated by the politics of British boxing as he was a risky fight but had little UK fan base to speak of because of his career being primarily based in the US so veru few promoters were willingnto risk their fighters against him and he wasn't going to be paid to lose.

It's going to be tough for him to get back into decent fights but if he's retained any of his old talent he could certainly win a few good fights if he can get them.

Cheers, I remember him being a real decent prospect a few years ago.
