A GANG of 20 Hibs casuals targeted to Hearts pubs in a violent rampage.

A 56-year-old man was kicked and stamped on in the Roseburn Bar before the yobs – said to be linked to the Hibs casual group Capital City Services – moved on to the nearby Murrayfield, where they smashed bottles, glasses and windows.

A Roseburn regular said: “They were looking for trouble and picked on one guy. They pushed him to the ground, kicked him on the head and jumped on him. Other drinkers tried to help him, but the hooligans started attacking them too before running out.”

The victim is understood still to be receiving treatement at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A pub worker at the Murrayfield said: “They threw glasses and bottles, then ran out and smashed one of our large windows.”

Police appealed for witnesses to the incidents, which took place on Saturday, and said they were following a positive line of inquiry.

Two pubs popular with Hibs fans before games at Tynie. Strange one.

Probably nothing at all to link them to Hibs or Hibs casuals apart from creative journalism.

Seems a bit strange that no-one on here had posted anything regarding this story prior to it appearing in The Sun. Far be it for me to suggest it's all complete made up bollocks but you'd think maybe some of Hibs.net's members would've commented on such an incident between Saturday and today?

If these morons are in any way linked to HFC we should all be seen openly to ridicule them IMO.

On the Bounce people said it was a hibs fan that was attacked, kickback also says it was a fight between a few people going to the murrayfield xmas night and a local.

Seems like a made up story. Maybe as we are heading through that way next week....

That Unite scheme worked well - thought bars in the same vacinity informed each other of potential for violence to spread in the local area?

The thread on keekback seems to indicate the story in the press is bollocks, not before a few of the more advanced thinkers over there have had there say though right enough.

Unight is for late night venues in the city centre, ie nightclubs, not community pubs like the two concerned.

If this is true then the EEN should be charged with incitement.
The law is quick enough to lift supporters for much less verbals.
