Sad to read that another of Scotland's top sports writers has passed away. Norman specialised on Rugby and Golf but he had a passionate interest in all sports including his beloved Hibernian.

RIP Norman - you were one of the best.

I remember, many years ago, going to a lecture on rugby by Norman Mair in the old Broughton school. He was a fantastic talker.

I used to enjoy his weekly feature in the Scotsman. Sport as a metaphor for life and all. RIP Norman.

Correct JB, but then this was at a time that The Scotsman was a respected newspaper.
