My thoughts too, but it appears she's just being a funny old bird who likes a flirt. It just goes to show in my opinion being a sexist is still clearly a mans problem.

The same reason why an English person is thought to be just having a laugh when poking fun at a Scottish person but would be threatened with legal action if they did the same to a Chinese person.

Through time, females have been perceived to be a constant target of males who are looking to objectify women and make them into some kind of sexual being. Because of this, any male who looks at a female and makes comments about their appearance in a sexual way is classed as a pig.

When a woman does it to a man, it's thought to be funny because the perception is that women don't generally view men in such a way.

I suppose there is some difference, in that women aren't a physical threat to men, and very few commit sex offences. There is very little chance of their being an undertone when it's a flooze that does it.

Fair point, but surely that isn't the reason people object to these types of comments? I'd guess the vast majority of men who make comments like this aren't going to physically threaten women.

I think the argument is that it's harder to interpret what a lecherous man is really getting at, and that women aren't bright enough to work out the difference. Whilst men are less likely to feel intimidated by this kind of behaviour.
