The "Route du Rhum" race kicked off from my bit this afternoon. There are 81 competitors sailing single handed the 4,500 miles from St Malo to Guadeloupe. The event takes place every 4 years but this is the first time I've really caught the bug (maybe because the crowd I work for 'built' one of the boats. In fact we were promised a trip to Guadeloupe for the arrival but we're too busy to take the time off.
