How come some posts on here get wiped for no reason?

I'm quite new and obviously don't fully understand the workings of the forum.

Another question , I've noticed in the past that someone has quoted another poster on a thread but if I scroll up , the quoted person hasn't posted :wtf:
I have no examples of this as I just thought I was going mental but I've noticed it a few times.

If they've gone back and deleted their own post it doesn't remove the quote.

What you see may depend on which skin you're using, as you know from the other day :wink:

I said something like "calm down" to someone.

I received a reply from someone else saying "stand down you" or something similar

I replied "I don't understand"

And that was the end of it. :rolleyes:
