Big game tonight, the chance to get ourselves in a semi-final which would give the place a real lift and feel-good factor. Think it'll definitely be a tough one and we will miss McGeouch in the midfield but if we play like we did on Sunday theres no reason why we can't do it.

Lets make plenty noise and make it a really good atmostphere - really looking forward to it :flag:

Should be a good cup tie under the lights. United look like they're bringing a large support, which should make for a good atmosphere. Yes, it will be a big test, but a win would really enhance confidence.

Getting promotion is the real objective - everything else is surely secondary ...

Think Utd play a game that will suit us. They will try to attack and come at us which should leave us with space to break. We struggle when having to break down stuffy teams.

McGeough is a huge miss though.

Much as we should go into this underdogs with nothing to lose, given our respective league positions, what a boost it would be to have a semi-final to look forward too!

Well we can't do anything about that tonight so at this moment the league cup is far from secondary.

A semi-final would be amazing not only for the money side of it but we would have a day out to really look forward to. I'm sure we would get a big crowd for it and it would be a fantastic occassion so i'm really really hoping we do it tonight!

This is a very good point. Automatic promotion remains highly unlikely, and so some beef for the playoffs might be the way to go. Both Scottish and League Cups could help fund a late move in the transfer market. Not sure how the windows work. For example is it likely we will be abel to get in folk after the season ends (but before the play offs?).

Yeah, you're right of course, and extra money is also a factor - just feel we shouldn't take our eyes of the real goal ...

Yes, especially if there is a The Rangers / Celtic semi which would be a sell out. Presume the gate receipts from the semi finals are pooled?

No I don't think you're allowed to do that. I think theres a cut off point for frees just after the january window closes and thats you set until the next season.

I bet you a million pounds there won't be a celtic v rangers semi.

Why are folk going to listen to Nicola Sturgeon tonight, rather than go watch the Hibs.

What's that all about.

They will be wanting to keep them separate in the hope for a big "showpiece final"

This is another really good test to see if we can maintain our form and get a consistency about us with a good performance. We will miss mcgeoch's drive and work rate, so who will come in for him ? will we change shape ?
I personally for what it's worth would put sam stanton straight in for McGeoch and tell him to get on the ball as much as possible and compete until he is knackered.
But have a feeling that Craig will come in tonight though !! has a lot to prove so maybe get a sight of the player he can be !!!

Disappointing crowd tonight. Given that United brought a fantastic travelling support of around 2000 , the turn out from the Hibs fans was poor. Great support from those that bothered to turn up though.
