Kevin Thomson or Scott Allen? Who has the better deal? Dundee or Hibs? Discuss.

How many games has KT played this season?

Quite happy with Allan tbh.

Me too. He is also younger and has something to prove. I actually think Allen is the better player too from what I've seen so far. He has a bit of pace when needed and can be more direct too.

Scott Allan is a FAR superior player to the Kevin Thomson we had last season. We won a major golden ticket here!

Has Thommo been out injured again?

Allen looks to be potentially a cracking player

Lets hope he keep up his recent performances - he looks a class above on the ball

Would rather have KT than robbo though or Better still wee dode claros over the 2 of them.

Looking forward to the jan window to see who we can bring in to strength the squad and hopefully move liam craig on.

Striker has to be number 1 priority.

Also I would like Allan to be able to last the 90mins.

There aren't many players that would have lasted 90 minutes having ran/worked the way he did on Sunday.

Neither of them can lace Lewis Stevenson's boots.

If we were to sign Demba Ba folk would still get his surname wrong!

Depends how big Farid is coming on (I wont even try to get his 2nd name!) :greengrin

Isnt he expected back around Jan - or have I grossly underestimated?

Cummings and Malonga have bagged a few for themselves....and maybe a now fit Heffernan can start to chip in too

He might be back then but will he be ready to start banging them in? I don't think we can gamble on that.
Malonga and Cummings have a few. They should have a helluva lot more given how much we dominate teams. We are not scoring enough.

Without a doubt Scott Allan, Thomson is more like Liam Craig

I'm not sure. A sweepstake on who plays more minutes each week would be interesting.

Players do it every week, so he should be lasting 90 minutes.

As another poster already said, I think Allan is a bit more direct than Thompson and seems to have a bit more pace. I'm liking the midfield of Allan, McGeouch and Robertson atm with Lewis making runs down the wing for them.

I wouldn't take Bah at Hibs.

I'm not sure Scott would have got a full pre-season under his belt? (signed in July)
His appearances have been, up until the last couple of weeks, largely from the bench - meaning he hasn't had much chance to prove he has 90 minutes in him.

Give the boy (and Stubbs/coaching staff) a little more time and the boy will be playing 90 minutes every week and running the show for us :aok:

Back on topic - I can't pretend to have seen much of Thomson at all for Dundee (don't think he's played all that much either!) but I was excited when we signed Allan (more so than if we had kept Thomson) and nothing has changed in that regard. Scott Allan, for me, has the potential to be a better player than Thomson ever was... let's hope he proves it.. and for Hibs!

I think he's a great player but get frustrated that he's still not fit in October.

Read somewhere that Scott Allan has type 1 diabetes so may explain something.

For whats its worth he is IMO a cracking player who will create loads for Hibs especially in this league. Hope we see the best of him in a Hibs jersey.

To me he is a very very good potential. However as Sunday proved he didn't always take the simple and best option. On numerous occasions Lewis was I'n tons of space yet Scott passed the ball back into the centre.

If he keeps playing they way he has started and can maybe try the easier balls once I'n a while he will possibly be the leagues best player.

I think that is a strength that he goes for the more difficult pass on occasion as it means our play is unpredictable. While all his passes wont come off that sort of pass is likely to be a match winning one.

I agree, the easy ball is what we done under Pat Fenlon. I like that he looks for the through ball.

Scott Allan x10. As good as KT was, his injuries have caught up with him. Allan has the potential to be a great player for us

Scott Allan for me. He looks the part, will be great when he's at full fitness to last 90 mins. Him and McGeough look great together.

I believe Allan is a star.

KT would not get into our midfield right now. Anyway, he's too old and he keeps getting injured.

Completely different players. Thomson is significantly better at sitting in front of the back four while Allan is better going forward. Both of them with McGeouch and we'd be a lot closer to Hearts in the table.

so maybe thomson a few years ago, but allan probably more keen due to age so would go with allan
