Anyone got info on how his recovery from last years injury is coming along and will he feature in the U20's any time soon? he look a good prospect when Fenlon brought him in. although might just be me but his team photo suggests he is carrying some weight http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/team/youth

The guy couldn't train for best part of a year so it's not surprising he's a bit weighty. But I'm sure they'll give him his own "pre season" type regime in the hope he'll be fit in January. At that point he'd be almost like a new signing and give us a fresh approach.

Thats what I hope happens at least.

Some weight? Jesus. There's not training and then there's throwing diet and nutrition Straight oot the windae! Is he a big lad naturally? Id certainly have dine questions (which may be unfounded) about his lifestyle while on the sick

Remember the pic was taken 3 months ago.

If the lad is naturally heavy, it'll be a nightmare keeping weight off when he can't generally exercise.

Very harsh comments on a young boy who has suffered a serious injury. Let's give him a chance before we lay into him

Once the lad is fit enough to get back in to full time training he can lose a stone in weight in a month, especially with a proper healthy diet.
BTW on a similar subject, I thought the Heff was looking very slim on Saturday when he came on, new fitness coaches etc maybe starting to pay off, which would also help Cody in his recovery.

It's relentless negativity.

Not from everyone, just seems the negative comments are picked up on more.
Scott Allan was struggling when he first joined us, looked overweight, but he is starting to look good and I feel our fitness levels are starting to pick up overall.

Rather than just negativity , I think there is a serious point to be made about the welfare of players that are injured long term. Healthy diets and trying to mitigate against muscle loss are surely more important when a player is on the sick list? The club has a duty of care to monitor this and not let the boy get too down.

Fair point. However rather than celebrate the fact that the laddie it's backback he gets slagged for being a bloater based not on fact but on a photo that's maybe three months old.

Heard really good things about him before he was injured, was such a shame when he picked up that nasty one. Hopefully when he's fully fit he gets back to his old ways.

It does look as though it's a picture of a fan rather than a player!

All the best in his recovery and hope he's back soon :agree:

I didn't say he couldn't loose the weight, I just wanted to know if he was naturally heavy! Also a bit of man boob banter wouldn't go a miss

Bet these are the same people who said Garry was overweight when he was a youngster at hibs. These photos were taken at the start of the season and he hasn't trained. Boy is probably just a unit. Hate this IDIOTIC mentality that if a player is hitting the weights and is muscular that they are fat. It's a Scottish football thing. Would you prefer all our youngsters to look like Stanton or Harris? I don't mind having a unit of a player!

Some of you lot just look for a reason to have a go.

TBH I think the whole squad are looking fitter and slimmer, onwards and upwards.

Left sided striker and goal scorer. Really good player. I think he'll make it all the way to 1st team level providing he fully recovers from his injury

Cody is back training with the under 20s, not up to full speed yet, he is hoping to be involved in the squad in next 2-3 weeks. As for talking about his weight, I think most people would put some on if not able to move, let alone train!!! He has lost a lot of weight in the past month since he started back proper training.

I can't wait for him to get back playing as I think he has more potential than Jason!

N, he is a far better player than Jason is IMO.

Cody is an extremely good striker who knows where the goal is. His link up play is exceptional as well. I know Ireland were keeping a very close eye on his progress.

He won under 17 player for Ireland last season. If he hadn't got that bad injury he would have been in first team

Anyone see the game and able to say how he played?

Played well and didn't look like he'd been out for almost a year. Almost scored with an outrageous effort from 40 yards, when he spotted the goalie off his line

I'll need to look out for them as I could do with losing a pound or two. Standing in the shower every morning doesn't seem to do the trick. :greengrin

Seriously though, good to hear Cody is on the comeback trail as he sounded like one of Fenlon's better spots before he got injured.

Thought he looked in glimpses the best player on the pitch last night for Hibs although he's definitely still got some weight to shift. Was impressed with number 4 in centre midfield for Hibs, Connor Duthie and Max Todd. Thought Lewis Allan was really poor.

Added timber or not, glad to hear he impressed last night. We need another striker so the door is open to him...
