Dutch politics runs on a method of debate called the Polder System.

Basically everyone has a big barney, blames each other, then realise they won't fix anything if they don't work together.

Seems to me the Scottish way is to say nowt till somebody puts their head above the parapet. We say nothing and let the person try their system out. Then we wait for it to go wrong and shout at each other and blame the big boy who ran away.

Its a good job we live in a country above sea level.

Yeah the whole of the Dutch political system is invalidated by his existence.

There was me thinking the Dutch system consisted of getting monumentally stoned and deciding nothing is really that important anyway.

Ha fair point but I don't think I said it did.

However it is hardly a ringing endorsement either now that your mention it!

Strangely enough I don't follow Dutch politics too closely but I know that have been facing difficult times recently and the Dutch themselves have hardly been delighted with the political response to their challenges.

I assumed the Op was suggesting the Dutch way was better...would be interesting to see some evidence of why that might be the case.

Im not sure if the Dutch way is better, the geography of their country means that they have to co operate or they all get their feet wet. I just think the Scots are quick to pass responsibility, as a race.
