Congrats to the U-20's! A lot of talent in that line up tonight. Anyone know if Tom Gardiner is injured?

Yes he's injured, but was at the game tonight

How are handling Stanton Harris and Sinclair linking up Billy

Sinclair has a decent 1st half playing through the middle, was pushed wide in the 2nd and wasn't involved much.
Stanton was moved inside in the 2nd half, and showed why he's so good in this position. His 1st goal was a peach.
In my opinion Handling was the best player on show, playing central midfield, just in front of the back 4, everything went through him, and I really think he can play there

Should be played there in the first team, Billy :agree: Has failed to impress when played wide - just not his position

Absolutely, and you could see what he can do tonight when played in his best position

Sounds promising. One of the biggest disappointments of a highly disappointing start to the season has been the lack of form/opportunity for Sam. He was first name on the team sheet for the second half of last season and should cruise through most games in this division.

He was poor towards the end of last season and has been poor when played this season. Albeit he shouldn't be played wide as he needs to be playing central. Well done the young lads.

Next home game is 2 weeks today v St Johnstone.

Some pretty good goals tonight, including the rangers goal. Stantons first was unbelievable, 40 yards in off the post....caught the goalie off his line.

I agree about handling Billy. He probably doesn't have the pace or strength to play as an out and out striker so his future is probably in midfield. He is fantastic at controlling and passing the ball even when space is tight. It would be great if we could get him into that role in front of the back 4.

Both sides scored with their first shots on target, 68 minutes and 76 minutes! To call the game a slow burner would be an understatement. The last 22 minutes were hugely entertaining, especially the 11 minute spell that heralded 4 goals for the young team.

Stanton - deservedly - deserves all the credit for his goals. 1st one, potentially one of the best goals I've seen live, 2nd tore the absolute p1sh out of about 5 rangers players and 3rd I may have missed due to needing to catch a bus.

That aside, Danny Handling was the best player on the pitch. Especially 1st half. Totally bossed the midfield. Could he play that role in the 1st team? Not too sure but I'd give him a bash at it

Did he and Sinclair not swap in the second half with Sinclair going out wide and Stanton going in the middle?

Scott Martin looked good in midfield alongside Handling. Handling controlled the game in there. Scott is always available for the ball, not scared to tackle and has a great engine on him. Hopefully can bring this to the first team in years to come. Sinclair looks about 14 and far to lightweight. All in all a poor game until Rangers scored and it burst into life.

If we could rely on the experienced guys to have league games won by half time(as they should)Stubbs could experiment with the Handlings, the Stantons and others in the second half.As it is they can't be expected to come in and carry the team.

Yes, we record every under 20 game home and away. This isn't just for hibs TV but for the players and coaches to look back at the match and work in things.!
