I am in Greece at the moment, and decided to ask some of the local population about the celebrated Mr Paleokostas. I have to report that their support for him is utterly unanimous. I found myself quite overwhelmed by their adoration of the man. There are far more stories about him than exhibited in the link I supplied. In one sense it beggars belief that an entire population could hold a common criminal in such high regard. On the other hand it appears that the man does good wherever he goes, to such an extent that the people I questioned unequivocally said they would harbour him in their home without a moments thought. On the one hand, I think some of his actions are quite noble, but yet on the other I worry that this is how low or society has become.
