View Full Version : South Edinburgh Helicopter Flights

One Day Soon

It is as though we have developed a whole new low level flight path all of our own.

Does anyone know why this area is being regularly buzzed with helicopters - or maybe its just one helicopter? It has been going on for a few weeks now on and off - maybe even two or three months. I'm just plain curious as to what/why this is?

Tranent had a few helicopters flying over on Wednesday night. I just presumed it was to do with the Ryder Cup.

I'm presuming that this is unrelated to your ones though.

Searching for Cannabis farms. Using infra red technology, they can spot the houses that are hottest.

Probably strathclyde polices (replacement) helicopter that is now part of police Scotland.

L&B never had a chopper and strangely enough seemed to do OK without one but since the take over of police Scotland by Strathclyde it's been here quite a lot....even used the excuse of training flights to explain their rather intrusive monitoring of Edinburghs population a few months ago in the EEN.

We get it around twice a week in North Edinburgh.

One game in 3 at ER?

How we/they managed before I just don't know.

they've been doing similar 'flights' over East edinburgh council house estates recently. Quite obvious what's going on and good on them.

would you like such a farm next door to you? cannabis growers usually deal in other heavier drugs too. Their profits promote misery for others. Surely you know the drill?

There's big risks of fire, and flooding.
