Absolutely. Are there any details? Terrible tragedy.

According to Facebook the poor man was epileptic? And never took his insulin to the game! Distressing for anyone in the area, no one should ever go to a game and not return! Football takes a back seat at times like this!

It's obviously no great sympathy to his family but I can only imagine he died doing what he enjoyed most!

RIP.

After reading the thread on kickback I have to say that my heart also goes out to those who witnessed the incident. That feeling of being desperate to help but unable to do so.

So sad for the family of a guy who was just supporting his local team. This has happened far too often recently and I hope we don't hear about any more tragic incidents at games for a while.

Very sad news indeed. A fan of his club just like us.

Was in the company of my oldest pal of 50 plus years on Friday who is as big a Jambo as I am a Hibby and we were talking about the 60's when I went to Tynie with him and he came the following week to Easter Road with me. Great times but we fell out a lot too.!!

And in my recent trip to see Scotland in Dortmund, I managed to get a few Jambos to sing Sunshine On Leith in front of a bar full of Germans.

We love football and our teams but nothing is more important than friendships and the people we mix with every day and i'm proud of this thread and it's human sentiment.

Thoughts and sympathies to his family.

The question mark was there as it's just what I'd heard mate not saying that's true or not... In fact if I'm being honest I haven't a clue what's used!

RIP to the guy. Condolences to his family.

You're right though, insulin isn't used as a treatment for epilepsy. In fact, the only condition in which insulin is used as a treatment is diabetes. If it were to be used in a non diabetic, it would kill them. I think someone has clearly misunderstood something here and the term used should perhaps have simply been "medication"

Yeah I'm type 1 diabetic and insulin is only used by us, might very well have been some kind of adrenalin pen or something?

Anyway, condolences to family, friends and the larger Hearts community, it's always upsetting when you lose one of your own in such tragic circumstances.

The deceased gentleman's son posted on f/b earlier to say it was a heart attack his father passed away from, and was upset about the amount of rumours surrounding his death . Ether way no one should go to the football and not return , very sad , rip to the hearts supporter concerned and condolences to his family and friends .

Having known his son through football, I can confirm his father had no prior health problems.

Connar said there was rumours he had diabetes but that was just untrue.

The guy who collapsed outside sainsburys is a friend of mine. He's not epileptic either. It's amazing how rumours can grow arms and legs. I'm not at liberty to disclose what caused my mate's incident, but suffice to say it's fairly serious :(
