Not sure if this happens already but if not must be introduced. The lack of application, professionalism and preparation for this league is clear for all to see. One day off the remainder in morning and afternoon, working on basics, studying opponents, set pieces etc.

They look more like they've been drinking doubles on a session..

Read an article in one of the papers last weekend which said that hearts players have only had 3 days off since the start if the season and have double sessions most days working on fitness in the morning and technique and tactics after lunch.

Would've thought most full time teams do this... Don't we? The professionalism of our players has been poor for a long time and the club are too blame.

Do you actually think any of these wasters would turn up ?

Pretty sure your right, until the basics of training change then this training centre is a waist of time and money. Not being used properly, as well training down the pitz at Porty

If the facilities are STILL not appreciated take them once a month to a public park as a reminder...

East Mains have made our young players soft and spoilt.

Scott Brown, Whittaker, oconner and Kevin Thomson would run thru walls when they first broke through to try and make it in the game....

It's nothing to do with being spoilt. It's just that they are nowhere near as good as those you mention. Not got a fraction of their arrogance either.

I was reading an article about Lee Weatwood's preparation for the Ryder Cup.

He's shifted 23lbs in 6 weeks. Attributed to double gym sessions.

While not saying they need to lose weight, it does show what that level of dedication can do to the body.

The 41-year-old went on to finish 15th at Valhalla and after bowing out of the FedEx Cup play-offs following the first event, has been undertaking double sessions in the gym to prepare for Gleneagles.

"Next week is a really tiring week so it's important to be sharp in every way possible," added Westwood, who has lost 23 pounds in six weeks. "It's incredible to think I have played eight Ryder Cups and next week is going to be my ninth.

How do you know that it's down to lack of ability? How do you know that they arent soft? It sure dont look that way. & as for your nonsense about arrogance, how can someone continually getting outperformed in a job where you are supposed to outperform your opponent develop "arrogance"? Your nonsense statement here seems to imply it is OK for a team with Hibs resources to be languishing in the lower echelons because the current players are not as good as in previous years. Well how the f##k are all these part time clubs & players not just in this division but in the one above us, continually embarrassing us? Petrie, just GTF. There is no other way now.

According to Sunday post hearts are doing 10 training sessions per week.
Tuesdays and Thursdays they do triple sessions including time in the gym. They do a double session on Wednesdays and a single on Friday. They also train on Sundays.
Neilson says that when he played he only did 4 sessions per week.
Anyone know how many we do??

It's been highlighted by two ex players, now coaches, how little the players do at East Mains, particularly the players breaking through from the 20's.

I was at Tynecastle yesterday and was very impressed with Hearts fitness and football circulation - everything was quick with a tempo, from full backs to wide areas - they'll stroll this league as I said before - great balance in midfield, industrious and busy, penetrating up front.

Hibs are sloooooooooooooow.

You have to be really careful over the type of training, no point being in twice a day and over exerting themselves twice a day every day. The body needs to recover and adapt and you should normally space out hard sessions with an easy day in between, or at most have back to back hard days.

However a sensible programme could be put together such as:

Saturday = game
Sunday = Light recovery training
Monday = Light recovery / gym / tactics
Tuesday - hard session plus gym
Wednesday = as per Monday
Thursay as per Tuesday
Friday = light recovery training

I am a pretty keen marathon runner and put in up to 10 hrs and 70 miles a week on a similar type programme, with only one day off per week - without the tactics obviously !

Not seen the training since Stubbs took over but watched a few times under Fenlon and Butcher ....10 am start ..well there for then time they got ready and wandered out it was nearing half past ... a couple of circuits of the park as a warm up few stretches and then into a few drills ,, bit of a game and then some finishing! then lunch and home ....we wondered how our players were not fit.
What I will say is obviously I was not there everyday, nothing like it but as has been said by ex-players now coaching, a couple of ex-players now elsewhere have gone on about how easy and poor the training is at Hibs.... why ? is this what's wrong not working hard enough at the basic's and getting themselves fit enough and skilled enough !!
With the coaching staff we have nowadays there should be no excuses in terms of fitness, skills ability other than some just do not have the basic ability and I like everyone else can think of a few ....

I would fully expect that given Stubbs has just moved from a premiership club he would know full well what is needed with regard to training amount of sessions etc. Also given that his mass assembly of backroom staff also have a wealth of experience we surely can't be performing so badly because of something so simple and fundamentally basic to any professional team. If that was the case they should all be sacked with immediate effect!

Sorry to be abrupt- but just beat it wi excuses please. Our "players" are subjected to the same rules, regulations & standards as every single other outfit we face- how about- just once in a ****ing while- our outfit just about try a leg & try to win occassionally? It surely cant be that hard in this lower division we are now in, can it? The mob fi the PBS seem to be handling it. Well, Petrie? Well? Just go please Petrie. & take your arrogance & lack of football knowledge with you. Where, I dont care. Just stop destroying Hibs please.
