Partly that's because they've taken a load of money on No and are trying to balance the book a bit. But also given the polling evidence, No should win this, maybe not comfortably, but it's by far the safer bet.

I its tempting to draw conclusions, and I am very surprised by the results of this poll.

But I am not allowing myself to. This is way off, and while I still don't think that the real polls reflect the reality of my own experience (friends, family, colleagues etc) we have to think that they know what they are doing, and there are other parts of the country that are overwhelmingly No.

Think the result is quite interesting though. And of course, I hope the pollsters are all very wrong.

I suppose what im trying to say is don't let this poll give you false hope, because it probably is bollox.

There are also areas with an overwhelmingly yes vote , such as Dundee. It's the undecideds that will decide the vote and my gut instinct tells me they are swaying towards yes.

4 out of 5 family members are elegible to vote in the ref including 2 teenagers. 4 weeks ago we had 2 nos and 2 undecided. Today all 4 voted Yes. 'Kids' totally engaged and although I remain Tory-esque I believe that Scotland can and will make better decisions about our country and our people than anyone else

Good effort mate.

In related discussions, I could see a resurgance in the Scottish Conservative Party in an Independent Scotland, as there will be less of the stigma attached to voting Tory.

Just IMHO of course.

Totally agree. although I actually think that a new right-of-centre party would emerge, partly tories and partly from a splintering SNP. As Tom Devine pointed out the other day, many 'traditional Scottish values' are actually very right-of-centre, and I think we need a strong right-of-centre voice.

I read an article by Moray MacDonald (former Chair of Scottish tories) who wrote that he is voting yes because he is a tory, not in spite of it.

Good stuff, especially the teenagers getting fully engaged! I sent an email to my sisters who were wavering telling them it is not about us really. We have had our shot at life. This is for the younger generation and their kids. This is not about September 19th but about 2 years down the road, 5 years down the road, 10 years down the road and so forth. And I was not being gloomy saying this was about future generations. I have been excited and nervous and frankly will be devastatetd if the Vote is NO. Scotland has a chance to look to the future whereas the NO campaign keep looking to the past. No coincidence that people looking to Scotland today hoping for a YES vote are just that...THE PEOPLE who are looking for a better way. And the flip side of course is that it is the bankers and politicians around the world who say we should vote No. No surprise there.

Good story you old Tory even though I presume you are the 5th and voted NO.
