I want to but I'll be on my own so I'll probably fall asleep.

If anyone was having a party though...

I'll be staying up, always do for elections etc.

I'm sure there will be a few hastily arranged public gatherings overnight so reckon I might head along to one if it looks like there could be a party.

Might even open my 'Hibs winning the Scottish Cup' champagne if it's a yes.

I'll be staying up as long as I can. You normally get a feel for the result when the exit polls start coming through but hoping to reach 2:30 \ 3:00 and maybe get one or two area's results.

I won't be able to sleep knowing that the results are being announced so I'll be watching for as long as possible (that's if I get a decent stream).

I explained this to my boss who gave me Friday off to get some kip.

Personally, I've never had a problem with 'staying up' all night.

I'm planning on going to bed early and then getting up about 3-4am to watch the big results pile in. Unsure whether I'll be able to sleep though.

going to bed at 8 and setting the alarm for the results starting to come in around 2 on Friday morning. If the results are all in as expected then I will be going to work knowing the outcome.

Working at 8:30 on Friday morning so I'll be going to bed around midnight tomorrow.

I'll see the result when I wake up at 7.

Planning on staying up all night, this is my second ever vote and I'm totally ****ting it, probably the most important one we'll all get :) let's hope it's a Yes win!

I stayed up for every election I've voted in (since 2010) and this referendum means more than any other to me. I'm never been so inspired, proud and excited about politics before.

Sure, a Sevco fan had a wee spit at me, but it just didn't seem to bother me - I am leafleting for what I think is best for Scotland. Tonight I was about to leaflet a door when I noticed a "No Thanks" sign in the guys window and he spotted me.

He came out and we shook hands. It was a great show of respect, he told me he is a lifelong Conservative and I respect that... kind of.

Some people have complained about the divisions but in a few months things (I hope and believe) will settle down. Even watching Gordon Brown's speech tonight made me teary - he's a man I liked and the campaign against him personally in 2010 was just awful, it's a shame the No campaign choose to try and demonise Salmond who was (and may still be?) one of the most popular leaders in Europe.

I'm going to stay up with a large Glenfiddich 18 year old and hope for the best.

Hope everyone gets out to vote alright tomorrow and that there is no trouble.

Off on the sick with Glandular Fever so will stay up. The fact Glasgow will be one of the later declarations will keep the show on the go until the sun comes up. Prediction time, 56:44 in favour of yes.

Great post mate and I agree with what you say about Gordon Brown. For me he's a good guy even though I disagree with his views on the referendum.

Heading up to my Highland retreat tomorrow night with my best friend; my 2 year old English Springer Spaniel, Calie, named after Caledonia. Need to be away from my family and friends over the weekend as I'll be a pain in the erse whatever the outcome. If it's a yes vote I'll be swinging in from the lampposts and may lose some 'no' friends if I stay at home. If it's a no vote then I'll be Mr grumpy for a few days so not good to be around.

Will stay up but if it's heading the wrong way I'll head to bed.

Whatever way it goes this has been democracy at its finest imo. Its great we have a voice without resorting to war.

I was working but I couldn't concentrate, I nearly drove into a bus so I've come home to watch the results come in. We're living through history right now and I don't want to miss any of it.

They can in the individual areas.

But, if it's very close overall, there's no recount.

Do you know why the votes were cast in pencil? Thought it was strange it wasn't ink.

Wax pencil :)

Much more reliable, and less easy to change, than ink or lead pencil.

STV just showed footage of the police entering the counting centre in Glasgow. They also reported that they are investigating allegations of electoral fraud in Glasgow, but didn't state whether this was with postal votes, during today, or at the counting centres.

Relates to 10 votes today apparently.

BBC said it was approximately 10 instances of double-vounting at polling stations

How many No voters does it take to change a light bulb?

None - they're happy to stay in the dark!

ps. to the No voters on here, it's only banter.

Clackmannanshire the first council to declare. No wins by 53.8% to 46.2%.

Only 36,000 votes so not too significant.

Went to bed at 8:30, got up at 2:20, saw the first three reults and went back to bed as I knew then how things were going to go.

Made it all the way through to Samonds speech. Pretty depressing night, it was obvious from early on what way it was going.
