Understand it was not full teams and only a training exercise...never knew Jackie MacNamara's son was training with Hibs though

3 x 30 minute periods.

Everybody got a game at some stage.

Toshney played.

Liam Craig scored two crackers, playing advanced left midfield, surely that's where he should be playing for the team if at all.

A game of three halves as Kevin Keegan would say !, the same person who said " i wonder what the French is for deja vu "

Its the only position he should be playing and why he was a success at St Johnstone, he always played front left of a top three.

I nearly wrote that, only put periods in after having to consider the right wording.

He played there at Falkirk and St Johnstone and also when Fenlon was here and was looking good when he 1st arrived, it was the genius that is Butcher who thought he could play DM after he screwed up with Thomson.

Without wishing to rake over the coals of Fenlon's reign again

One of the (many) reasons we were and are so poor is that squad he built was completely unbalanced with the result that far too many players were and are having to play out of position.

Liam Craig, is probably the most glaring example of how you can ruin a player and sap their confidence totally by asking them to play a role they are not suited to.

Think he played a part.

He is behind others in terms of match fitness but he looks a lean lad so hopefully will be available for selection right away.

Agree that's probably LC's best position but I'm sure I've read in more than one interview that he himself reckons a more central role is his best position.

Fenlon got absolute pelters on here for not playing Craig in a central position. Funny old world, eh?

The problem at the moment is that he's playing in a deep role rather than an advanced one. He may have a long term future at Hibs if played in an attacking role, whether on the left or the middle, but he certainly isn't doing anything to earn a new deal playing where he is.
