Feel free to delete this if it has been posted elsewhere. I lifted a post from Facebook on deadline day saying we were in for this striker. I have just seen on the transfer rumours page that he is training with us. No idea on the validity of the rumour. Had a look at him on YouTube though. His goal record could be better but he looks strong, quick, decent finisher and could be the perfect foil for Cummings. Here's hoping.

Uchebo has played over 100 games in the top flights of Netherlands and Belgium and is only 24 years old. 4 caps for Nigeria, he played around about an hour against Scotland in the 2-2 friendly. Would be very impressed if Hibs were able to attract a player with those credentials. Here's hoping, we could certainly do with some positivity.

When ever I hear the phrase Goal Record could be better i worry because goals is what we need as we didn't strengthen defence so clean sheets will still be hard to come by .

I know what you mean I am the same but he is still young....ish and coming to a lower level I think he would do well. I think he would create a lot for Cummings as well. Only time will tell. Fed up with rumours just now, too many let downs!

15 goals in 113 games is a goal every 7.5 games. Probably not being signed for his goal threat and more as a target man type.

On the plus side he doesn't like Ally McCoist so he's ok in my book.

According to Wikipedia he has a trial with Sevco a couple of years ago which lasted a grand total of one day.
Ally McCoist said it was a club decision to cut the trail short and Uchebo's agent said it was because he had a poor impression of McCoist's training methods.

I think he may have scored against Scotland. As someone else said, he may be a winger

He signed two year contract in 2012 so contract would have run out in July...so who knows.....not the best scoring record but if he can hold the ball up for our small strikers then maybe what we are looking for.

On the plus side he doesn't like Ally McCoist so he's ok in my book.

If we can just edge that up slightly to a goal every 7.8 games then he should fit in perfectly.

I agree but the reality is if he had a good goal scoring record at our level then a player would expect to progress to a higher level on more money. So we pick up youngsters or proven goal scorers from below us or strikers at our level with mediocre goal ratio or we burst the bank . With the injury we are being pushed to a quick fix

Just reading that, it says it was because Ally didn't attend a single training session while he was there, yea way to go Ally, make an impression on a potential new signing.
Maybe not prolific but he's 6ft 4in and will chip in with goals, if we're going to go 2 up top then we need someone with his size and power to make himself a nuisance.

Right new policy at Hibs ( because everything is back to front ) tell our strikers not to score. Knowing our way of doing things we'd score loads. Just don't tell the strikers it's reverse psychology. Lol

As for the lad joining, not sure. However he may just cause problems I'n our league and be exactly what were looking for. GGTTH

One of my colleagues got stuck there for 2 months, we gave him a Don't Warri, Be Happy T-shirt to cheer him up! He wasn't impressed! On a serious note the National stadium in Lagos is fine but as LA says the majority of other parks are not up to the same standard, euphemism!

Think the answer is it depends if the rumour is true about having a player on Trial and how they do .Its clear we will take our time and get the best that is available within our means .If that means we take another week to be sure then so be it .ideally if the player we sign has been trying with us for a week or so they would be ready for Cowdenbeath game but if not Heff Cummings Sinclair young Celtic guy will get thier opportunity .

Nothing sad about it. That Shirt/tie/tracksuit combo was groundbreaking fashion. The man is a trendsetter!
