Man City fans having to travel into Moscow...hard group too with Bayern and Roma!

I genuinely pity the Porto, Bilbao and Club fans who need to travel to Donetsk...

Arsenal also have a pretty tasty group.

Liverpool vs Real Madrid

Wouldn't mind if we could do this again: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eRrt5FeZWME#

Nevertheless, still a difficult group and shouldn't underestimate Basel and PFC Ludogorets 1945.

Don't Shakhter have to play their games elsewhere at the moment? I've a feeling I read that somewhere but cannot find it right now.

No chance the games will be Donetsk. They will be played in a neutral venue.

I think their stadium was shelled this week so any 'home' games will be a long way from Eastern Ukraine.

See Celtic might be getting re-instated after it was discovered the Malmo coach driver only had a provisional.

They're playing all their home matches at the Arena Lviv in the city of Lviv, which is over 630 miles away, as the crow flies.

It's a bit like us playing our home games in Oslo!

Surely no problem for Celtic....their coach driver will have a few!

Tough one for Liverpool. But they are back with the big boys and I don't mean that Liverpool are small by European standards. Their European history speaks for itself but back in where the big money is and to get a choice tie against Real Madrid.

:agree: due to the English support that helped set up the club iirc

They only sign players from the Basque region and colours come from the English shipyard workers there at the time, mainly from Southampton, hence the colours.

going by wiki, workers from Southampton, Sunderland and Portsmouth.

Athletic began playing in an improvised white kit, but in the 1902–03 season, the club's first official strip became half-blue, half-white shirts similar to those worn by Blackburn Rovers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackburn_Rovers_F.C.), which were donated by Juan Moser. Later, a young student from Bilbao named Juan Elorduy, who was spending Christmas 1909 in London, was charged by the club to buy 25 new shirts, but was unable to find enough. Waiting for the ship back to Bilbao and empty handed, Elorduy realised that the colours of the local team Southampton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southampton_F.C.) matched the colours of the City of Bilbao, and bought 50 shirts to take with him. Upon arriving in Bilbao, the club's directors decided almost immediately to change the team's strip to the new colours, and since 1910, Athletic Club have played in red and white stripes. Of the 50 shirts bought by Elorduy, half were then sent to Atlético Madrid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atl%C3%A9tico_Madrid), which had originally begun as a youth branch of Athletic. Before the switch from blue and white to red and white, only one other team wore red and white, Sporting de Gijón (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sporting_de_Gij%C3%B3n), since 1905.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athletic_Bilbao#cite_note-2)[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athletic_Bilbao#cite_note-3)
Athletic were one of the last major clubs who did not have the logo of an official sponsor emblazoned on their kit. In the UEFA cup (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_cup) and the Copa del Rey of 2004–05, the shirt sported the word "Euskadi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euskadi)" in green in exchange for hundreds of thousands of euros from the Basque Government (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basque_Government)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athletic_Bilbao#cite_note-Deia-4) (Red, white and green are the Basque colours (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikurri%C3%B1a)). This policy was changed in 2008, when Athletic made a deal with the Biscay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscay)-based Petronor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petronor) oil company[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athletic_Bilbao#cite_note-Europa_Press-5) to wear their logo in exchange for over 2 million euros. In 2011, Athletic revealed a new away kit which was inspired by theBasque flag (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikurri%C3%B1a).
