Sitting a season out when you're at your peak can be absolutely devastating for a player as you lose consistency, become rusty, and stop progressing. My concern would be that Celtic punt him out on loan but not to us, down to a Leeds or a Huddersfield type of club. Three reasons why I think that is more appealing to them than moving him onto us;

1) They would be able to meet a lot more of his wages. Leigh is only approx £10k per week. We could get nowhere near paying all that

2) They want their horrible 'pals' to win the championship. They may claim that they don't, but they do.

3) Purely because they are spiteful. Leigh attends our games when he's apparently not meant to. I'm guessing they don't like that
