Noticed this was taking place in west yorkshire today.

Why can we not get games like this as would have been perfect on my birthday and anyone know why we have not arranged any type of game today?

Going by the events in benidorm this summer I think your right. Would be mayhem if we played them anytime soon.

Maybe because we're playing Rangers on Tuesday.

Pre season is about getting the players ready. A lot of teams will play Saturday and Tuesday before the season start.

Bolton, Blackpool x2, Blackburn and Carlisle were all great trips to the north west in recent years. Chuck Preston in from a few years earlier too.

:agree:

A 'glamour' friendly at home would have been good. Didn't actually have to be a really big team, just one that would be a step up from most of the teams we've played so far and maybe something for the fans to get excited about.

There was loads of bother on the train going back - fortunately I was travelling with two Leeds lads (wife's family).

If I remember, they stopped the train at Dunbar, took a few Leeds boys off, and added more cops.

Like Watford who we had arranged to play at Easter road before they pulled the plug and we played Dundee United instead.

And had we be drawn against anyone other than the new Huns in the cup we would have played our first competitive game already

Got caught him in all of that on way to pub (they wouldn't let us lot in to the pub at the travel lodge type place next to the ground so hibs fans had to walk all the way back alongside a bypass type road..). must have been a good 40+ hibs fans looking for trouble. Was pretty f'n scary if im honest!!

Oh so the rangers are playing means we have to follow. AS feels our pre season prep is going fine. Heard that Hibs would be in at training every day between the east Fife game and the hun game. If he felt we needed more games he would have got us more.

Every time they go over for an update all he talks about is their bloody support and hardly anything about the game...not that i'm overly interested in the game either i suppose but my god, he needs to put it away and let his excitement calm down. :greengrin

The worst thing is that we we're all expecting us to get better but once again we've deluded ourselves because we want to believe.

I hope I'm totally wrong but it wouldn't suprise me if we got beat on Tuesday. The same patterns are forming.
