Just reading that tonight's Milk Cup game between Northern Ireland and Mexico was a bit tasty, with four red cards and two brawls.

I haven't seen the highlights yet, but was looking out for the match report as it's a grudge match after events at last year's Elite Final between the same teams - check the footage at 3.37 at this link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oafx9ymM1gw

Nice to see Sevco Huns continuing the links that their predecessors forged with Chilean football.

Back in the mid 90s Huns RIP signed a player from Universidad Catolica. You'd expect that anyone playing for a club with that name would be Catholic, but in fact Sebastian Rozental was Jewish which must have been a relief to all at Ibrox.

Whoever the player was that rattled the kick at the player's head who was already on the deck should have been arrested, never mind sent off!

The big Irish guy throws him to the ground, he gets up and doesn't fancy taking him on, but lo and behold there's a smaller guy on the deck. He should be in for a hefty ban with that one.

That's ridiculous. Lucky he didn't connect properly. Hefty ban coming his way

Seb Rosenthal, there's a blast from the past. I remember us all being told how incredible he was going to be. He was pish. Sickening how much money that mob wasted on hopeless strikers, and us mugs paying the tax for them all. Rosenthal, Van Vossen, Stephan Guivarc'h, Marco Negri(apart from half a season), Tore Andre Flo(£12 million ladies and gentlemen-AND they had the nerve to boast in the paper at the time that he was being paid tax free-funny that!). Who was scouting these clowns? Only good striker they signed was Michael Mols

Didn't he score something like 25 goals in his first 10-12 games? I particularly recall him scoring 5 times against Dundee United at Ibrox.

Other than that, aye, he was awful!

What's all this "milk cup"?

I thought we were going to get some classic footage of Oxford United's win over QPR in 1986. :-(

The Mexican-lad kicking the N.I guy in the head will get a (deserved)healthy ban. But why was the N.I. player (No.9) on the ground, rolling about in agony when (watched it a few times now) he doesn't appear to get hit - certainly not in the stomach he was holding as if he had been hit ?

Marco Negri is one of these cult icons, think the fee was about 3 million from Perugia? He'd scored about 30 goals in 2 seasons there, and he swaggers into Ibrox, scores 23 goals in his first 10 games, ends up hitting 32 for the year. Then after that, for the rest of his entire career I think he scored 11 goals in about 30 odd appearances for a raft of Italaian clubs and loans, utterly mental!!!!!

Word around the campfire was that he was allegedly a bit of a manic depressive and was pushed into football and never really truly wanted to play, a rumour backed up by the fact that he never celebrated a single one of his 32 goals for Rangers, cracking player mind. :agree:

Never mind a red card, that could merit an assault charge. Shocking stuff.

It's a strange one - I think he might have been caught but the referee is blocking it from the camera's view.

Kicking someone when they are on the ground is the act of a coward. Simple as that.

Yeah - The number 09 comes running from the far Right of the screen @12 secs...

He Does appear to be Chased and Then falls down - The Guy who might have hit him then appears to pull Up his Captains Armband - before Walking away..

Watched it again - he doesn't get touched by anyone. Think he sees one of them starting to make a move for him and he decides to go down as a way of getting out of it all. Makes all the gestures/actions throughout of being involved in the fight, though, without actually doing anything - maybe some girls were watching and he wanted to look 'tough' ??

It's deceptive but the body language, particularly of the Mexican number 2, makes me think he got him.
