Anybody know a good site for objective, evidence based comment?
A woman from Friends of the Earth has just been on and said that it has been responsible for a drop in the birth rate, and will cause cancer clusters if it is allowed to continue.
How can she predict that? It's time people on both sides stop treating us like we are stupid.

Naturally, If there is a scintilla of evidence that either scenario could be realised, then one would have to take it seriously.
I find it incredible in this day and age that we still rely on fossil fuels.
If I thought a successful outcome wouldn't see me mysteriously disappear, I would dedicate my life to finding a propulsion system capable of working with air or water.

There is plenty information on anti fracking.
For starters, Go to website . . . .

Ian R Crane is an ex-oilfield executive who now lectures, writes and broadcasts on the geo-political webs that are being spun; with particular focus on US Hegemony and the NWO agenda for control of global resources.

Thing is Oil/gas is finite. Ie it WILL run out at some point (unless we are prepared to wait around for another million years).
So at the moment the rich and powerful want to control this finite resource as they can attain greater wealth and political power by controlling it.
I'm sure we could make some kind of game changing renewable discovery in the next 30 years if we invested money and resource into it. But that wouldn't make the rich richer.
At the end if the day it will run out and humanity will be forced to create the alternatives. Super cells for capturing suns rays, mass wave and tidal power. Harnessing kinetic energy more efficiently, geo thermal solutions, etc.
******g the planet up at a quicker rate isn't the answer, tracking ain't the answer, and when our drinking water suddenly disappears and the water table drops, then we truly are shafted.

Yet there is billions upon billions being invested across the globe in renewables...billions have been lost but greater billions will be made by those investing in renewable and alternative energy including the development of effective storage of the variable power it produces.
That energy is not free though in terms of impact on the environment...just one look at the components of a solar cell will tell you that.
I'm not getting into the do's and don'ts of fracking as it seems to have attracted a whole lot of 'experts' that don't fully understand the process...suffice to say that fracking has been around for longer than its shale gas days and if used appropriately will not make your drinking water disappear. That said the economics of fracking may not be what they are made out to be and I doubt if the UK will ever see it on a substantial scale for that reason.

For someone who does not know the do' and don'ts of fracking, you are making assumptions that 'if used appropriately will not make your drinking water disappear' a good argument for fracking.
I would not encourage people to listen to 'alleged' experts at all - listen to people, farmers, rural people of communities, doctors, livestock farmers who LIVE in the fracking area's.
Why has Ian R Crane never been interviewed on mainstream TV (?)
Find out about the fracking currently going on in America and Australia.
What about the trial fracking around Blackpool a few years ago?
Earthquakes, House prices dropped etc.
Will you accept fracking around your house . . . . I will not.
Here are some more fracking links on Facebook . . . . where fracking is currently going on.

Listen & learn from the PEOPLE, who live the nightmare - breathing methane gas, polluted drinking water, the destruction of our environment, farm land & stock and it's people.
Personally, the only reason why there has been no fracking in Scotland (even though they are making moves to) is because of the vote for Independence in Scotland.
Be warned, if a no vote is carried forward then London will push forward with fracking in Scotland (?)
Why did German and French governments ban Fracking in their own countries (?) (?)
Do these governments care more for their people than Westminster care about their own people (?) (?)
Never listen to politicians or mainstream TV . . . .

Or cranks who say that Fracking causes cancer clusters?
I'm not convinced about fracking, but is it any more likely to cause cancer than coal mining or drilling for oil, for example.
Some of the boo boys seem like nothing more than flat earthers to me. About as reliable as the Scottish Obesity Forum.

The Fracking companies are allowed to hide what 'chemicals' they shove down the drills\wells as it is a secret (?) WHY (?)
But the chemicals are harming parts of American and Australian soil, air and water.

Not to mention poisoning the water. I was listening to a documentary on the BBC World Service a few weeks ago that claimed there was a sharp rise in birth defects and serious poisoning in areas in the US where fracking takes place.

I mean even if there was a slight risk, this should be investigated.
Another I'll conceived policy that the ConDems have steamrolled through.
Act now, think later. I give you NHS England as a case point, or free schools.

As a follow up to my original question. Where can I can objective evidence on that. My concern is that scaremongering is the order of the day.
