That was my initial reaction as well. Although that's the price we are having to pay. I do like the look of the whole kit to be fair. I will get this instead of the home effort.

Looks nice as a kit. But I won't be buying it as the top is just an over priced polo shirt. No different to the polo shirts we sell........ Bit disappointed. But again as a kit it's nice. But I'm never going to buy a full kit at this age

It's a nice top, sponsor kind of spoils it slightly but I like it!

Also really like the marketing idea behind it for once, 'a fresh start'. Appropriate and fitting.:agree:

My first thought. A vented polo shirt because the fabric dees not breath.

Hmmmm.......

Not a fan of the green shorts. The strip doesn't stand out as amazing but maybe better in person

DAVE1875
25-07-2014, 09:42 AM
Would've preferred shorts that matched the colour of the home top.

Apart from that I am really happy with this. Especially when it's compared to away kits in the past, with our last white away top being the only decent effort in quite a few years

Beefster

I'm not sure what the "it is just a polo shirt" brigade are expecting. A collarless football shirt is just a t-shirt.

The sooner hibs kicks Nike into touch the better. Nike kits are boring and uninspiring. I hate to type this but Hearts have had far better designed kits than Hibs over the past few years so i really hope we can commercially join ties with adidas.

This isa plain and simple unimaginative and overpriced polyester polo shirt; we are getting ripped-off big time.

That'll do nicely. Shame I don't live closer cos I'd prefer to try it on before it was bought.

I'm not sure what the "it is just a polo shirt" brigade are expecting. A collarless football shirt is just a t-shirt.

I'd say ours is a lot closer to the school polo shirt than any other collared football stop. Still like it though, white-green-white looks good.

The home shorts are white. I'm sure iyll be interchangeable.

I don't wear football tops 'out' but I'll be buying it for lounging about and nipping to the shops etc. I really like it.

Simple and sleek, no need for garish designs and stupid flashes of colour.

I think it's the best they could have done with that sponsor. More green in the top would have clashed with the logo.

The down side is that it doesn't really feel like a Hibs top to me.

Diclonius
25-07-2014, 11:00 AM
This is how the home top should have been designed. Collar and a red-on-white sponsor as opposed to white-on-red. May well end up buying this strip instead of the home top now.

What I will say is that I usually do not wear replica shirts but I like the white polo shirt + Hibs badge. However, I am not sure about the sponsors logo - apart from looking terrible, I doubt I can walk around with a bookies name emblazoned all over my front. Now if I can get the polo shirt without the logo then it's a winner.

Plain but ok.
My one gripe with it is the blurb that goes with it on the fishy site. "Stay cool through the current Scottish heatwave and while away on holiday ".

Not that i got away myself this year but i'm sure many would have loved to have worn it on their hols, unfortunately dont think i know anyone who is still to have their holiday.
Only 2 weeks left before the Embra kids go back.
I do think our marketing is very poor, always seem to be dragging our heels. I hope, in time, this is another issue that LD will address.

Well we are guaranteed to win at least one tittle this season, most boring kits! I'm not a fan of overly complicated technovomit kits but ours this season are just a bit too plain I think?
Maybe the thinking is to keep it simple and concentrate on the job on hand, getting promoted? Let's home so anyway!

Still gunna buy the away kit anyway. :D

It's a standard Nike Laser II short sleeve football top you can get elsewhere for about £30. Is it worth an extra £14 for the Hibs badge. Hell, yes, because the club needs funds to progress, and I do like the way we are seeing that progression now. Much the same with the shorts and stock, again off the shelf Nike fare, with the club badge added.
I do like both strips this season, although I appreciate I'm in a minority. Not keen on the sponsors logo that clashes with the colours, but we need their money, so I accept we're stuck with it. It seems that Nike are only giving us 'standard' stock items this season though, hope we can get a better deal in the future, with a personalised design. Retro like the FF actually played in would be a nice touch?

sponsor kind of spoils it slightly

The Sponsor is a big (and bad) deal for me this year.
Crabbie's have some kind of history, a little class plus their logo wasn't particularly invasive or out of place.

Don't think I'd like the Marathonbet branding even if was discretely placed on a naked and freshly oiled Kelly Brook.....

Looks really mundane. The collar especially is poor. Looks like a cheap polo shirt with a pish sponser logo on the front. Nike need sacked instantly. My dog could come up with a better plan than this. Home and away shirts this year are rotten!! It just goes to show that when you have the mkney you can get away with anything. Like the home kit it just looks a but cobbled together rather than a complete kit, even if the Nike swooshes on the shirt and socks were green it would have made such a difference but that's what you get when picking kits out of a catalogue

Hopefully after this deal is up in 2 years time we might go for Adidas, Warrior or Macron who will actually bother to make kits for us

Top reminds me of Fulhams home top last year who iirc were/are sponsored by Marathon. Given the old red and green colour clash white was probably the best away option. Vast improvement on home top but that wasn't difficult.

Think the majority will go for away top, much better looking with the sponsor logo on white, sadly this looks rubbish on home top, tho where would we be without sponsorship?

I agree, the sponsor looks terrible! It's so bad, its like they've put it on there for a bet! ;)

They should've used this template for the home shirt IMO. Green with white sleeves / collar, and they would've sold quite a few more...
