The Rangers FC, Season Ticket numbers down, not yet paid off Emergency Loan, desperately in need of cash. Who can they possibly look to this time as their White Knight?

None other than the SPFL Match Arrangers!!!

First League Game:
The SPFL have arranged that they play their first game at home, against Hearts, [I]one of the two biggest draws possible, therefore ensuring a large immediate payment.

Challenge Cup:
Another lucrative tie, at home to Hibs, the other one of the two largest possible clubs.

League Cup:
No large teams to choose from? (Hibs and Hearts enter at next round)

Some suspicion the SPFL are rigging them with home games?

Answer... Draw them against a club in the same city, in the third largest Stadium in Scotland, therefore enjoying the most lucrative possible tie.

By an amazing co-incidence, the SPFL announced before the draw was made that the The Rangers game would be re-scheduled because of the Commonwealth Games. That could only have been required in the event that The Rangers were drawn to play at either Ibrox or Hampden...which the SPFL couldn't possibly have known before the draw...... (or could they?)

Suspicious? Moi?

No mention of "if the cup game is a home tie" just the games will be rearranged

No surprise, they made a big mistake in the previous days announcement. Nothing will be allowd to stop them winning the league. If the SPFL could have found a way of bumping them up to the Premier they would have done so without any second thoughts.

Wed 9th, before the draw:

Ties are due to be played on Saturday 2 August but the game involving Rangers FC will be rescheduled due to Glasgow 2014.

Did notice Doncaster smirking when they drew us in the Challenge Cup. Thought nothing into it at the time but with hindsight..

The game will be played at Airdrie. Hampden is out of commission until December.
