View Full Version : Our new training top!

I feel this merits a thread of it's own. This top is STUNNING! Would have been so so SO much better if this was our new home top instead.

I for one will be purchasing one of these without questions, also only half the price compared with the new home top!

That could easily be more popular than the home strip, given the choice between the two I'd go for the training top

The sponsorship logo does usually ruin a kit, but I think that training kit is far nicer than what weve got as our first kit. It actually looks like someone has put some effort into it. Like others have said, at a considerably lower price I imagine that will be really popular.

Came on here to talk about this, far superior to the actual top!

I see you can personalise it with your initials (a nice touch I thought) is anyone in the know as to where they will print the initials on the top though??

Dunno, somehow the first one just looks that much classier. Proper Hibs Green, not the Nike 'Pine Green' of the other one.

I don't think we need another campaign, people will make up their own minds about which one they buy, or as usual they will get what ever one is in their size in the shop :greengrin

What would that achieve?

I dont get all this moaning about the strip. They are not going to change it. Why should they? Cause some people don't like it. It's as simple as dont buy it if you don't like it. If you prefer the training top and want to show your support by wearing a Hibs top, by all means do that instead.

I also don't get the moaning about the logo. It's not very pretty but it's getting money to the club, who gives a **** what it looks like on the kit. Should we have gone with a company paying less money just to not have a bit of red.
I actually like the new home kit.

That said, I do think the training top is nicer and more Hibs, but change isn't always bad either.

I was up at the club shop with my son earlier and bought him the new training top. It looks smart and is less than half the price of the home strip. Not sure how they can really justify the price difference between the 2 tops. He was over the moon though and it was nice too see Alan, Paul and Lewis stay past there allocated time to meet the fans.

Take away the logo and the new home top looks OK. Not brilliant but OK. The problem is the red design. What is it they say about red and green...

For me the issue is PETRIE (this was done well before LD arrived) using the name of the Famous Five as an excuse to dupe supporters out of more money. Every photo I have ever seen of them was in white sleeves. Celebrating the decade of their birth, really?

I went into the shop at 12ish and there were 2 XLs left of the green training top. Asked what seemed to be the manager if they had other sizes. Nice guy and very helpful but he explained that the demand had surprised them and they would be ordering more. The next order would arrive in a week or 2 - he wasn't really sure. They must have sold 100 yesterday and lots of people seemed to buy in favour of the strip which couldn't be predicted....

Except any Hibby would know that as soon as they set eyes on the 2 tops! As the reaction on here in last 48 days showed. Disappointing that the marketing/merchandising side of the club seems so out of touch. Also seems strange that we only order maybe 120 of these training tops for the launch when this week likely sees the biggest footfall into the store all year.

Another problem for LD to tackle.

Having said that.....I did just buy another training top. Plain black one is also very smart:wink:

Its a strange one. When you look at the top training tops, they could easily be a Hibs home and away top, and without any sponsorship on them which is something a lot of fans usually wish for. Its really no surprise theyve sold far better than the home kit, and will no doubt have lost someone (either Hibs or Just Sport) a fair amount of money given that they are half the price!
