Got to be said wouldnt be that happy about that as you would assume they are a good partnership and enjoy working together. I think some of the managers recently dont appear to have either brought or been able to bring their assistants. He is a new manager so having a decent assistant is vital IMO.

I'm sure Stubbs will find a new pal.

Have to agree I much preffer a good partnership or when a manger gets to choose his assistant. Really need 2 good coaches on the training park.

New hibs boss Stubbs was keeping his cards close to his chest when asked about the identity of his new assistant, saying only "he's been places".

It really helped Terry having Mo with him

Agree there are cases where it doesnt work however in terms of a new manager settling in it would IMO make him settle in quicker if he has a guy he can trust as his assistant.

Agreed, especially someone new to management, I do hope Unsworth isn't the reason for the delay on announcement.

A disaster at Sheffield Utd hopefully he would have learned a lot from his time their. Having him as a no2 does not fill with dread

I would have no qualms at all about him coming in as assistant. Great experience, a leader and a good role model IMO.

Wonder if he's still got it as a player. Surely can't be any worse than Nelson and McGivern.

Surely in the interview they would ask - who is going to help / be your assistant / goalkeeping coach in the job ?

If they don't ask this then the interview process must be flawed.

Does the assistant not have to have an interview also or does the manager hire him?

Really hoped Unsworth would be in as seen him coach and very good - but doesn't look like anymore so maybe the hold up is finding a 2nd choice assistant ?

The assistant bit would obviously be discussed but in this case it might
Be no bad thing unsworth not coming.I'm sure there are plenty who would
Want the position with a little more experience that might just help
Stubbs along.
Don't think goalkeeping coach would be discussed currently not required we have none :greengrin
I feel sure there will be a lot of announcements rolling out shortly I get what your saying
But feel we need to get behind all the changes and fingers crossed.

Out of Unsworth and Ferguson - Unsworth is the better coach - Both are really good guys though.

Ferguson I don't think is ready for an assistant position - probably more suited to u21 / reserves.
