I suspect that there will be a few Maradona's

Tough to choose between Ronaldo and Batistuta. Given that you said world cup player though, I'll go for all time top scorer and 2 x winner Ronaldo.

Good question. Someone scoring a great goal in front of their own fans. Maybe Negretes volley for Mexico in front of 120,000 in the Azteca in 86

Nobody like RD. Guy was/is a fruitcake. Zidane is one of the greatest players of the game.

Zidane in 1998. Carrying the fragile hopes of a home nation to deliver them their first World Cup. Imperious.

I would chose Bobby Moore. To hold up the World Cup in front of a home crowd must be an amazing feeling. Add in the opponents, who had been your opponents in a war, only 20 years before, and you have a very significant victory.

To put that in context, think about what you were doing 20 years ago, and you realise how fresh in the mind the war must have been.

Gordon Banks making that amazing save from the great Pele's header - Mexico 1970. Or Jairzinho scoring Brazil's third goal in the final against Italy in the same tournament.

Brazil - The greatest ever world cup team that year, winning the right to permanently keep the Jules Rimet Trophy. They won all their six games in the finals, as well as winning all their qualifying fixtures. The best. Great memories.

Ronaldo 2002.

To come back from an injury that should have ended his career to score 2 goals in the final of a record breaking World Cup win must have been special.

On his day no one could touch Ronaldo, he was a cut above.
