Challenge cup = ouch. Can we not opt out of it? Concentrate on getting promoted. SC and league cup not important next season either

No idea when the draw will be made, but likely to be soon as the league cup starts in August.

'pay to play' give the fans some time to run out representing Hibs and charge a bomb to do it. :greengrin

I think its only Hearts that list the sixes amongst their honours.

Now that's a great idea. Squad of 18 picked from the Hibs fans everyone pays say £250 each to represent Hibs.
Added extra' s could be take a chance by paying another £100 to guarantee your place for next round if you win haha

I regard the first round of the Challenge Cup as an extra pre-season game because it'll take time for the large number of new players that we need to get used to playing together.

Yeah!

I had an argument with a jambo pal about that.

He was trying to say it wasn't a real honour - not realising (or believing) it was presented with the league cup

We don't.

We get a bye to the second round this season.

We'll play in the first round in season 15/16 though, regardless of whether or not we get promoted this coming season.

I think the Ramsdens cup draw was on the 28th June last season so will probably be either next week or the week after

What's the bet we get Hearts?

I don't think it's seeded but the first round is regionalised so I would put money on us getting them.

Why do we get a bye?

Challenge Cup is no longer sponsored by Ramsdens. SPFL are probably waiting on the new sponsor (whoever it may be) to be announced. The draw may coincide with the announcement.
In response to earlier comments, I don't think opting out is an option. (Eh?)

League Cup. I'm not sure if it is still sponsored by the Scottish Government. Perhaps a similar scenario to the other cup regarding the draw.

Hibs get a bye to round 2 because the 15 first round ties are played between the clubs who finished in 13th to 42nd in the previous season. As mentioned above - unless the rules are changed - Hibs will be in round 1 in season 2015/16.

Hope this helps.

Why do we get a bye?

Clubs finishing 6th-12th in the previous year's Premiership receive a bye into the second round of the League Cup the season after.

The first round involves the 30 clubs from the previous season's Championship, League One and League Two.
