I hope it's OK to post this here; I thought some Hibs fans might be interested in the annual charity day taking place in Leith this coming Saturday (7 June). The day is being hosted by the Leith Community Fundraising Organisation (LCFO) to raise funds for Edinburgh-based charity CCLASP (http://www.cclasp.co.uk/about-us/) (Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, Advice and Support for Parents).
The day culminates at 3pm with a match between the LCFO heroes and Hibs Legends at Leith Links, refereed by grade 1 official Mike Tumulty. As a lot of you will know, in the past many greats of old have played in this fixture, such as John Collins, Darren Jackson, Keith Wright, Mickey Weir, Paul Kane, Ian Murray etc so it's really worth getting yourself down to watch some decent football for once!
The day begins with a charity walk in the morning at 10.30am, starting at Leith Academy Car Park and going around the walkway into Leith Links. After the walk there will be two games of football and a soccer 7's exhibition. The first game at 12.30pm is the 'Leith Legends' game, featuring past and present Leith Athletic players paying to play for CCLASP, followed by a soccer sevens exhibition with local kids playing on two pitches.
Hopefully as many as possible of you can make it down for what is a great day in the Leith calendar. If you can't, feel free to visit the day's JustGiving donation page (http://www.justgiving.com/Gerry-Freedman/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=Gerry-Freedman&utm_campaign=pfp-share)!
