Hibs and England.

Former England star David Platt could have been a Hibby.

Apparently Rod wouldn't pay the £150k transfer fee :greengrin

Italy.

There is a Maltese club called Malta Hibernians. Pottery found by Archealogists in Skorba, Malta resembles that found in Sicily dating from circa 5200 BC.

I agree with a previous poster in regards to Nigeria as they wear green. Not to mention the fact that I bought their 1998 world cup top with "West" on the back - that's how I got my old nickname Taribo... and that's how good a defender I was for Stranraer East End BC :greengrin

The Hibs captain at the close of the season was Liam Craig. Liam Craig came to Hibs from St. Johnstone who are based in Perth. Not only is Perth a city in Scotland but it's a city in Australia. Australia famously defeated American Samoa 31-0 in the qualifiers of the 2002 World Cup, breaking North Korea's 21-0 record vs Guam. The Supreme Leader of North Korea is Kim Jong-Un, who shares a first name with Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom. Kallstrom went on loan to Arsenal earlier this year but missed some time at the start of his time at the club through injury. Wayne Rooney missed England's first couple of games of the 2006 World Cup after suffering a metatarsal injury. England's manager at this point was Sven Goran Erikson who has worked in nine different countries. The 2014 World Cup takes place in South America and nine teams will also compete from the continents of North and South America including Honduras. Jorge Claros plays for Honduras who has played in two cup finals in recent years from Hibs and indeed won a supporters player of the year award last season.

And that my friends is your tenuous link.

[/I]Our own Stuart Lovell

He was capped for Oz while playing for Hibs.

Oz is the first team to have arrived in Brazil for the World Cup finals.

They'll be the first home just quietly..

The World Cup is being played in Brazil.

A Brazilian is a name for a certain, ahem, modern hairstyle.

This hairstyle is generally seen in the vicinity of the fan....

Our Chairman, Rod Petrie, is a total fan....
