Steve Flemmings quote to Malcolm on the Thick of It comes to mind : "You have gone from the person people love to hate, to the person we just hate - from Simon Cowell to Piers Morgan".

This is will be good tonight especially given the fact that UKIP have representation.

QT used to be decent. It's turned into a bunfight populated by bawbags mostly.

I never watch it now unless it's broadcast from Scotland.

I'm led to believe, however, that QT provided a very good platform for UKIP in the run up to the Euro Elections.

Why is Barton even on the show?

It should be a political debate not a place for a guy more famous for his tweeting over anything else.

First question has been about UKIP in the European election. Barton's answer included: "it's like you've got four ugly girls and you look at one and think "well she's not the worst"! Robin Day will be turning in his grave!

I didn't watch all of it but Bours seemed like a moron. UKIP performed well because it was a European Election and they prayed on peoples genuine concerns about immigration with horrible election leaflets and billboards.

Why Barton was invited on I don't know but would love to have seen GG on that panel.

I thought Barton did a lot better than Moron, who was continually called out for making false statements about Farage.

As for the "sexist" remark, it fairly punctured the ego of the UKIP rep., who up till that point behaved like she thought she was chocolate. Not a kind way to talk about the politicians, but one that should hurt nobody other than those who feel they are worth more than they are.

Ironically, UKIP like to make out they are saying what people think. Yet when someone else tells them they are the best of a bad lot, they take the hump.

Protecting the feelings of ugly girls, is just another example of Britains race to the bottom. Next they'll be insisting that fat people should be in our Olympic team.

Anybody wanting to see sexism in action need only tune in to Loose Women, or Britains Got Talent, or one of the countless ads. on telly that denigrate men.

That really was unbelievable. What an awful thing to say.

It betrays a lot about Barton which is a shame because some of his other views are perfectly valid.

I'm sure that women generally will be delighted that Joey Barton stands in judgement over them.

I thought the comment was embarrassing and I actually cringed.

He rightly got called out for it by a woman in the the audience.

I'm not even sure what point he was trying to make. That UKIP are the best of the 4 main parties?

I think he was saying the electors said they were the least bad. Not a smart way to make his point, but the UKIP person seemed to take it personally.

The ukip person was on the back foot and the comment gave her an opportunity to briefly escape. As Barton later said, in his apology, it was a sign of nervousness. (She didn't apologise for saying that footballers' brains are in their feet, which is equally stereotypical!)

You don't have to apologise for making derogatory remarks about men.

I just found it ironic that someone who appeared tobe wallowing in adoration seemed to take the huff when she was felled by the sort of plain speaking her party espouses.

Seems to me that the common ground, and common sense that UKIP claim to represent is subject to individual interpretation. The only thing their supporters have in common is disaffection.

He's not a politician, and for that reason his valid point that UKIP got 25% of 30% of all the votes available was lost. Her tactic seemed to be to stick her fingers in her ears and keep saying that it was a great success.

She went on about coming first in a national election. That to me was like saying winning League Two is the same thing as winning the Premiership.

Seems to me all Barton was doing was pointing out that people can see through spin. And UKIP hate politicians that use spin.

She should have laughed off his remark and addressed the point, but she used it as a deflection.

I actually thought it was quite a good move. It seemed to have got a lot more young voters watching (me as an occasional viewer included).

Least bad = best.

Anyone who suggests UKIP are the best/least bad is seriously deluded.

The sort of person who could look like a pillock when sharing a panel with Piers Moron and a UKIP MEP?
