The league does not lie. We are the worst team the league.

So what next?

Well I feel we have to take our medicine and try to rebuild our team. We have to bin virtually all of the current imposters who wear the green and white. We need a young team, built with skill, pace and grit. We need a manager who is tactically adept. We should accept that we are unlikely to get up first time around, so avoid the quick fixes. We need a 'Mowbray' type leader, who get us playing with youthful vigour. We should aim to build a team that will be ready for the challenge by the end of next season - maybe too late for 2014/15, but ready for the following season.

So what is your view - quick fix for next season with risk we still finish second or third at best or build a team for 2015/16.

We need a complete wipe out that goes beyond players and management. If the same people running the club remain, we will not get out of the championship ever. It will just be empty promises followed by more empty promises.

As a club, we need to go back to the drawing board. Start a fresh.

We have the fanbase required to get out of the championship fairly quickly, but this will only happen after a hard reset.

If we could build a team ready for a challenge in 2015-16 I would be delighted. The reality is that, with no prospects of improvement, we will struggle to survive In the Championship. Drama queen? No, realistic.

If that lot didn't have the 15 point deduction we'd have been down.

We then had a chance to save ourselves. Two goals up and we still **** it up. Down on merit, twice.

But we have to think that Hearts are undergoing huge change and that Sevco are ***** so we 100% have to aim to win the league.

Yes ! How no ? The Rangers are not exactly flush with cash . Hearts are cost cutting also . Time to get some quality in and all the crap out . And go for it with all guns blazing . Cheer up and start living up to your name .:->
It might just be one hell of an adventure .

Obviously, we need to aim for this, but we need to be realistic. This isn't going to be like it was back in 98-99 when we walked it. There are loads of good teams, all dangerous to us, in the league, and they will all be dying of a shot at teams like Hibs.

In my opinion, Hibs need to use next season (and possibly the one after that too) blooding some of our youngsters and getting them serious game time so that when we do get back up, we won't need to rely on journeymen who can't be bothered.

:agree:

Granted this season has been horrible but I hope that the board have the same expectations as me and getting out of the Championship pronto is what their aim will be.

Optimist. Yes. Can't be sitting here all summer feeling sorry for ourselves. Got to move on and plan for a quick return.

The fact is we could be easily be down for two seasons and we should prepare for this. On many level this is a tragedy for our great club but it is also an opportunity to rebuild the club from the bottom up. We have done this before and we will have to do it again. However, this can only be done if the people whom have the great privilege of running our beloved share the passion and the will to win as the supporters.

I think that you are going to be in for a big shock over the course of the next season. Both Hearts and Rangers have been planning for the championship, we haven't.
If you think that we are going to come straight back up think again. Any plans that we had for next season, in terms of recruitment, went out the window today. You will be lucky if we can keep the crap that is already here.

what are you on about? did you happen to miss Petrie's statement? he is staying along with that clown Butcher. No chance we will compete with Rangers, Hearts or Falkirk with this comical setup. Mid-table at best UNLESS we get Petrie/Butcher to ****.

Can't agree with you there. The club must be rebuilt from the top down. It starts with the owner and chairman. If they can't put more money into the club then a bucket load of new ideas are required.

As much as we all love the Hibs, it's time for the club to pay us back. We've done our bit.

Rangers will find away out of their mire and win it by some distance. With the right investment we can make top 4.

Due to our club being rotten to the core we will end up playing hearts in the play offs and being royally dispatched as usual

Yeah truthfully I don't see us going back to Premership 1st year and maybe even the next year either. The way we are at the moment, hoof up the park and let it go to the opposition situation is horrendous and that is the management fault, it doesn't work and TB was the captain of that ship, so he has to either go or change this dreadful style of football because we might even struggle at the bottom of the Championship with the current football philosophy. I wish we could have gave him a chance for signings but 2 out of 20 wins is indefensible form.

That is exactly my point. Obviously we should aim to come back up as Champions. However, we should accept that we may be down there for more than one season, so should use the time to build a solid base for the future. The first step has to be securing a young keen tactically adept manager.

I am sick of reading posts (no offence to those above) that it will be ok, "we will definitely achieve top six" or "no chance we will get relegated" or "easy, Hertz are mince, we will beat them". Wake up guys, it is us that are totally mince and IMO I really can't see us being above those two this time next season.

Anyone who says we will, what do you base that logic on? Our current bunch of imposters! The top quality youth coming through, like who? The new signings we are going to get in, a risk strategy if ever there was one.

Build for the future would be my view.
