I thought we should have gone for a Cardle a few years ago (possibly when he was still with Dunfermline). Not seen much of him since then but always looked like someone who would have been a steady, reliable winger for an SPL club.

Seen him so often with Dunfermline and Raith and think he's average. Not an spl player. Nice guy though.

I'd have to agree on this one -he comes across as a very unlikeable character on the pitch in the games I've seen. Having said this we tend to have likeable guys that don't always do their job. Still maintain we need a strong captain.

Just going from when my we boy used to do training camps at pitreavie where Dunfermline train. He used to allways have time to talk to the kids.

I reckon wingers by their nature blow hot and cold and he seemed to me to be typical of that. On his day excellent and on other days very poor.

That said it's a position we've strugged with in recent years so I reckon he might have done well for us. He can beat a man and get a cross in so I dare say James Collins would benefit from having someone like him in the team.

Kenny McLean - out of contract at st mirren should be a target although will be a target for English team I would imagine

Kallum higgingbotham - great season and exactly what we need

Sonogo - loan spell at Ross county ended and is the type if strong demanding centre half we need

I can't take out of that that there will be more investment in the playing side of things. We already have a healthy playing budget.

My guess is they are looking at a partial fan ownership model. They'll obviously be interested in how many of the Muppets have signed up to FoM (and how many keep paying) and Leeann Dempster clearly has ideas in that direction:

Dempster is well placed to comment on fan ownership. It is an ideal that sits comfortably with her and Boyle, and she is now trying to convince local businesses to take stakes in the Well Society, which has already raised £400,000 through individuals.

"Something like the Well Society is a better model than one individual owning a club," she asserts. "The ideal would be a group of [wealthy] individuals with a fan ownership model running in tandem. The notion you are throwing money into a black hole by owning a football club is not true, especially where the bigger clubs are concerned.

"At Motherwell we have a limited fanbase because we are competing with the Old Firm on our doorstep. But if you are asking about Hearts, the debt burden there is the issue. Once that has a resolution, through administration, Hearts would be an ideal proposition for a consortium type arrangement of individuals and fan ownership – they have 10,000 season ticket holders and are based in a city. There are a lot of people who could become involved and this is could be a great opportunity for the rebirth of a big club."

Good luck to him and I hope it works out wherever he ends up, but Id be a bit worried about him signing if I was a Dundee fan. He will presumably be one of their first choice CBs, and weve seen over the last couple of years his fitness can be a real problem.

Morgaro Gomis: Set to join Hearts
Up To £30 Free Matched Bet

Hearts are expected to complete the signing of midfielder Morgaro Gomis on a free transfer next week, according to Sky sources.

Gomis has agreed a three-year contract at Tynecastle and will link up again with Craig Levein, who signed him for Dundee Utd, the club where he recently completed a second spell.
The Senegal international's first spell at Tannadice was between 2007-11, ended when he moved to Birmingham City.
After two seasons with Birmingham he returned to United in 2013.
Hearts are also reported to be interested in signing midfielder Prince Buaben, who had a recent spell with Partick Thistle.
Buaben is also available on a free transfer.

So hearts can already afford to offer three year contracts to players . it will be interesting to compare quality of who they sign and what they are paying in wages compared to us .i know we get a Parachute Payment of 5 or 6 hundred thousand for being relegated does anyone know given thier circumstances if they get a payment as well ?

Gomis and Bauben are yesterday's players. Hearts can spend what they don't have on them. It does not bother me one bit. We need to focus on bringing better to the club. Gomis was a player I liked years ago but has hardly kicked a ball since leaving United. As for Bauben, never rated him.

Granted they are better than what we currently have but lets cast the net wide and bring in genuine quality. It is out there if the scouts look for it.

Why are folk bothering about what they do and who they are rumored to be signing. Buabin and go is have had there best years they have both been a shadow of themselves since they left united, they don't worry me one bit. As for Alexander, is it really a big deal which keeper they sign, especially a guy of his age.

im more interested in seeing who we bring in and then I will assess our chances.

This thread is about Scottish transfers so I dont see what the problem is discussing it.

FWIW I actually think all 3 of them would be good signings for Hearts. Gomis was actually meant to be coming on to a bit of a game at the end of the season with United but their midfield of Paton and Rankin was McNamara's favoured pair. Plus Gomis and Buaben's best football was when they were in the same team together, so it may well work for them again.

Agreed, if anything I think McDonald is a better keeper, and I would have thought his wage demands would be less. Sorry to hear that hope it heals soon .Been in the garden working all day Got a new shed and painted it green .the wife not too happy .
Not sure what's happening but next week is crucial for the club in lots of ways .

If T B has been sourcing players who are still willing to come and Lee Ann has decided T B is staying no matter what then on basis of his track record at Inverness you would expect some activity .If there is nothing and no statement that deals they have been working on are still looking good then Relegation may mean T B s plans are on ice and you would think he wouldn't be happy given what he has already been through .
the Demonstration next Saturday ,or rather turn out at it ,will determine if the the campaign to look to put pressure on a Petrie to exit the club or at least be very clear what Lee Ann has sole control over and what other changes are happening , will define what direction we go in .
There is a lot of posturing just now but what we need is decisive action and a clear idea of what is happening as this vacuum of no information from the club is IMO only adding to the frustration of a certain faction of the support .We need clarity so we can move forward

Darren McGregor is in talks with The Rangers. They have apparently offered him a deal of around £4,000 a week

Correct, he was shown round Riccorton as well. He then got a call from Fat Sally while on a stag and was buzzing.

Kenny's deal is also done as well. Told him he's getting a mince pie to his coupon when he runs past the dugout next season :D

Yeah our good old friend Agent Scotland tweeted that about half an hour ago.

Does anyone ever take this guy seriously? He just looks through message boards and posts what's on there.

I think he gets more stick than he deserves but I'm not sure how legit he is, if at all.

Mark Millar released by Dundee Utd. Was a stand out for Falkirk in Championship last season, might be a decent signing...

Watched Falkirk a couple of times last season and Millar was really good. A central midfielder who passed the ball forward and decent set piece taker. IMO would be a very good signing for us unless Falkirk decide to keep him

If it's true id expect a hefty fee!

Also would hope jason would show us a bit of loyalty as butcher has gave him a great chance and stuck by him for him to get his first team goal

Where's this from?

It's not gospel by any means but i saw a number of tweets on Twitter regarding this. Apparently they are offering more cash which can't be difficult given he'll be on a youth contract at Hibs.

Both hate us and the feeling is mutual. Wouldn't make sense for any party. One bad game from either and it would be "hearts this" and "hearts that". The players and those in charge know this.

Stevenson really doesnt like hibs but that doesn't mean we haven't spoke to him. I doubt we would be a serious option for him though

I do think there is something in the MacDonald rumours and I hope so. He's a very good goalkeeper

Yup just look at maybury. Fans gave him dogs abuse at times and he never had a bad word to say about hibs and had been away from hearts for years

I think McDonald would be generally more accepted, at least by me. Usually has a laugh with the Hibs fans in the away end at tynecastle when he really doesn't need to. Never known him to say a bad word about Hibs either and seems a good goalie. Would still be surprised to see him sign but he is a more realistic option than Barr or Stevenson.

Looking at the BBC Hibs page they have a number of squad players without numbers? I know it's not up to date as a number of players who have already left are still quoted but who are the guys with squad numbers?

McGregor
McInally
Smith
Allan

Were these young guys?
