As one who attended a large number of the Under 20's and Hibs 'East of Scotland' games this season, I would like to thank James McDonough and the boys for giving me the perfect antidote to Hibs first team football.

It has been some season for the youngsters and I would like to record some of their achievement.

They sent two teams to the Foyle Cup competition in Derry in July. The Under 17's got to the final scoring 14 goals along the way and only conceded one, the final was cancelled due to bad weather and the trophy was shared between Hibs and Derry City (Hibs had beaten Derry 3-1 earlier in the competition). The Under 19's went into the competition as holders and regained the trophy, 14 for, 4 against.

Hibs entered the reconstructed East of Scotland League and were placed into the new First Division, playing as Hibernian EoS. They also played in the SPFL Under 20's league. They were involved in four other competitions, the King Cup, the East Of Scotland Qualifying League (which entry to the EoS League Cup), the East of Scotland Shield (played for by our under 17's) and the SFA Youth Cup.

In total the youngsters played a total of 81 games during the season, this was made up of -

8 Friendlies (won 5, drew 1 and lost 1) 26 for, 5 against
4 U17's Foyle Cup.
5 U19's Foyle Cup
2 SFA Youth Cup games, won 5-1 v Ross County and lost 1-5 against Rangers at Ibrox (Rangers beat Hearts in the final)
2 King Cup games, won 3-2 against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale, lost 1-0 to Edinburgh Uni.
11 Qualifying League/ League Cup. Drew 4, won 7 including the Final 4-1 against Craigroyston. 32 for 11 against.
18 EoS League games, won 15, drew 1, lost 2, 72 for, 16 against. Won the league by four points and were promoted to EoS Premier League.
30 SFPL Under 20's league. won 17, drew 8, lost 5. 71 for, 38 against. 3rd in league behind Celtic and Rangers. (League detailed below)
1 East of Scotland Shield (Final) won 2-0 against Hearts. This was the tenth win in a row.

Overall - Goals 234 for, 81 against.
38 different goal scorers (excluding own goals by opposition players)
Every outfield player had scored at least one goal by November.
Top goal scorer - Jason Cummings 38 total, 33 competitive (despite being included in the first team for a part f the season)
Average of 3.06 goals per game.

It should also not be forgotten that the youngsters lost a team mate and very good friend to many of them, when David Paul died suddenly in December last year. RIP David #A4
