Wouldn't the rule that stopped us signing a boy in the summer because he was freed after the window closed stop us here?

On the other hand, he made his debut the last season we were relegated. Playing his last game for us when we are relegated again would bring some symmetry to his career.

If Kenny is available, at a decent price, even at his age its worth a gamble. 100% commitment, goal threat and a great boost for Rodders at the same time (£££)

I don't know how many strikers will be available, regardless of the fact he is 34, with his pedigree and proven goalscoring record in the SPL

The comments below the story all suggest he'll be missed. One says: "Loved what he brought to the team. Helped in the improvements of Mattocks, Manneh and Hurtado".

Hurtado? Hurtado? Could that, possibly, be...?????

I've dropped him a text so will let you know what he says. As I've always said Kenny would love to finish his career at Hibs but the last time he offered his services they were turned down.

This time I think fat Sally and Butcher may be interested. He gets on well with both and if it was a decision between us and them he would come here. He's made his money so he's no interest in that.

I'm not getting all of this petrie, dempster stuff. PF didn't want him, who says TB does? Also don't you think we'll still be working under the same restraints? LB being in position doesn't mean we've suddenly got a **** load of cash!!

Cash isn't an issue, he's more than happy to play in the current wage structure. Butcher though like Fenlon may simply just have other targets.

Someone who will work hard, chase and can obviously stick em away.

Unreal that anyone at the club would not be interested in signing him. He's someone I would love to see at Hibs again. If Fenlon did turn this down it shows his managerial ability. Turning down Miller while signing Kuqi/Vine? Butcher and Malpas should think very carefully about this. Out of all the strikers that we could bring to the club I'd probably only take McKay or Ciftci over him. We must have a very high standard lined up.

He'd be an incredible signing - he can score for fun, works hard, looks after himself and would be invaluable role model for our young guys to learn from. Does anyone have any contact with Hibs? Do Hibs/Butcher know he'd like to come back? What an utter arse was Fenlon, eh?

Hibs should be doing EVERYTHING they can to get Kenny Miller, he's on a plate! @TheCat23, tell him to hold tight! Tell him to wait for Hibs, and if anyone has access to the club can they tell Hibs to get their finger out?

I'm not saying I know that.

I just think it would be astounding if anyone at Hibs was not interested in bringing in an International striker that would score easily 15-20 goals in the current SPL. I also said 'if' Fenlon. I know nothing of the Miller situation but he has apparently offered his services at the time Fenlon was manager and it was declined.

The guys old and past it. No thanks.

Why, because he's 34? Last time you seen him play was probably England v Scotland and he played well against some world class opposition, scored a stunner as well. Kevin Phillips has only just retired aged 40 so don't write off Kenny Miller because of his age.

He'd still be a good signing at SPL level for sure. If he still has the legs he'll score plenty, would be a good bit of business if hibs snapped him up.

We'd get a good 2yrs out of miller at spl level no doubt in my mind the influence he'd have on players like Cummings and handling would be worth his wages alone, played at a high level and lives his life very professionally, he'd be a top signing IMO if we make an attempt at it is another matter though

I think he would be a good signing for us for one season and wouldn't hesitate to sign him. If he really has done
a deal with the The Rangers, fine, I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist over it. What would annoy me is, if, a year or two down the line, we start to hear the predictable 'Miller wants to sign for Hibs , to end his career, blah, blah .....' If he wants to do something worthwhile for Hibs, now would be the time to do it.

It'd be brilliant to see Kenny back in a Hibs shirt, I think he'd be an outstanding foil for James Collins, I can't help but think though that his first choice would always be Sevco, whether its some kind of loyalty to the fans or the club in general or simply Ally McCoist, if its a straight shoot out between us and them I'd bet on him going to Ibrox every time although I'd love to be wrong.

The Ironic thing is most Hibees would love him in the Premiership and Rangers fans don't even want him for the Championship

Saturday is going to be tough on the old vocal chords. Bad enough I have to shout the customary abuse at our management team (before anyone starts I'm kidding), but I'd also planned on telling them to give KT a new deal. Now I'll have to shout to get Kenny Miller signed. Anyone know where I can hire a megaphone ??

Joking aside would love to see KM come back home, signing him and KT is an absolute no brainer IMO.

I have to admit I'd have a good wee chuckle to myself if we managed to sign Boyd and Miller, two players that Rangers are almost certainly targetting. That said, both of them would be great at Hibs IMO, but the only question I would ask, and others have asked it too, is will Hibs go for either of them?

That said, both of them would be great at Hibs IMO, but the only question I would ask, and others have asked it too, is will Hibs go for either of them?

Both ..... If we have ambition

A team based on rumours would probably look more like...

Brill.

G.Shinnie. Forster. Hanlon. Booth.

Robertson. Thomson.

Higgenbotham. A.Shinnie. Ross.

Miller.

Having Forster and Hanlon centre halves makes me quiver with fear. That's a terrible partnership IMO of course we need 1 possibly 2 new centre halves.

Hanlon - 33 caps for Scotland at u-19 and u-21 level.
Forster - Looked a star in the making when he first broke into the side

Where are we going to find two replacements with anything like the same potential within our budget? If we really can't make a success of players like this then we might as well just give up. It really doesn't matter who we sign, we'll just mess up their careers as well.

Thankfully we have a management team to make signings and pick teams rather than fans on message boards.....altho I do reckon I am more competent than all recent Hibs managers!!!

I really hope he does come back home to the club he supports. But just got a feeling he might end up at The Rangers.

He was a rangers fan in his youth and probably still one now.

If Kenny is available, at a decent price, even at his age its worth a gamble. 100% commitment, goal threat and a great boost for Rodders at the same time (£££)

Who wants top boost "Rodders"?

It's the CLUB that needs boosted, not the guy who's largely responsible for the state we're in.

Boost him off the board, and I'm with you, but I would expect Mr Miller to be playing for The Rangers next season.

Not us.

He was a rangers fan in his youth and probably still one now.

Growing up strewart and his dad Jokey were Rangers fans. Kenny wasn't to fussed for anyone as he played most w'ends. When at Hibs he became one of us and still went along to ER often after his move to Rangers. Sadly that stopped after he was spat on outside the main stand and called "a ****ing hun" after a Hibs, Hearts derby.

The Glasgow press love to spout the rubbish he's a "big" Rangers fan but it's defo not true. Players get told to say things to the press when joining clubs to please fans but I know 100% who Kenny would rather see win a game out of us and them. It's not that mob that's for sure.

Cash isn't a problem, he'd be more than happy to play in the current wage structure. Butcher though like Fenlon may simply just have other targets.

Probably not :-(

You would get some folk that still wouldn't be happy because they're "still hibs" and "slow".

Some people are hard to please.

That would be a pairing that would secure a top four placing, with maybe a creative midfielder behind them

Rangers released Andy Little. Probably to make way for Miller, if thats the case I wouldn't mind taking a punt on Little if we miss out on Miller or Boyd.

On the topic of Boyd, why would he come to us? I think it's pretty unrealistic.

Miller is more likely given his Hibs connection. I don't think we'll get either though.

Kenny was a rangers fan when he was younger mate I had a few slagings from him when the huns beat us but he didn't go to the games tho, and u r right that once he started playing for hibs he did become a hibby tho and still is to this day as u said!
