CELTIC won the championship and the Scottish Cup last season, but not one of their players made it on to the PFA Scotland shortlist for Players’ Player of the Year. The reason given – one not universally accepted as gospel – was that too many players from the Parkhead club had been nominated, thus diluting the vote.
