For a couple of days now, when I use the quote button to include in a post, the text sometimes appears to be a bit mixed up, with lines and phrases repeated and out of order etc. and I end up having to edit it to make sense. Is there a technical problem with the site or is it likely to be my PC that's at fault.?

Couple of questions........

What browser do you use?

If it's Internet Explorer, what version?

On a similar theme, I've been getting a message that says '[quoted user]'s inbox is full'. So I try again and then it works, but gives me a message about duplicate messages.

Ubuntu 12.04 - Firefox 25

Windows 7 - Firefox 19.02 (no joke, it really is!)

It's because the person you're quoting has a full Private Message inbox. I got it the other day too.

It shouldn't happen so we'll look into it.

I tried to copy and paste an example of the 'gibberish' but when I then pasted it, it printed out OK.

IE is always the problem.

Much better off with something like Firefox, Safari or Chrome. :agree:

I've been using IE for years and up to a day or so ago there was never a problem. Why should it start now?:dunno:

My smilies aren't working, nor can I post video, Mikey. Used to be fine.

I stopped trying to post anything in IE 11 on here weeks ago, because there is something not quite right about the text entries when I make them - When I try to enter text in IE and then preview it - it almost always fails to format the text as I wish - if I try to mark the text to format it, the highlighting disappears suddenly before I can select the font, and if I try to delete text it refuses to do so using delete, I have to write over the text and so on
... I always use Google Chrome now ...

I always use Chrome too and gave up in IE on here a long time ago. The problem could be because of an update to IE or vBulletin and it's likely to fix itself just as quickly as it went wrong.

Best advice...... don't use Internet Explorer for viewing hibs.net :greengrin

I use IE for most other things and only use Chrome for browsing .net.

Try using system restore to reset the system back to an older date before the problem occured, it can often correct problems such as these.
