Can't believe this news today after watching his Hall of Fame speech the other day.

Just been reading that...a hero of mine growing up. Here's what he said on Monday at his induction to the Hall of Fame, the very day before he passed away. It's almost as if he seen it coming...

“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own,” Hellwig told the crowd on Monday. “Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if that man did in his life what makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized.”

No that speech was on Raw.

Hall of Fame on Saturday, a brief appearance at Wrestlemania on Sunday, then Raw on Monday, dropped down dead on Tuesday. Incredible really.

Looking through a list of wrestlers that have went onto the squared circle in the sky, could make a decent Survivor Series type match out of it!

The Warrior, Andre the Giant, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Owen Hart, Mr Perfect, Macho Man Randy Savage, The British Bulldog...

Watched Raw for the 1st time in ages the other night and thought Warrior looked ill. Really seemed to be struggling for breath and was sweating badly, thought at the time it was just nerves but maybe not.

Ultimate Warrior, Eddie Guerrero, Big Boss Man, Sid Vicious, Crush Adams, Doink, Test, Razor Ramon, Jake the Snake, Chris Benoit. etc etc.

All around at the time of the WCW/WWF steroid scandals, all either dead, seriously ill or with some kind of substance issues. I hope Vince McMahon et al can sleep at night.

Didn't see Raw the other night but started following Scott Hall/Razor Ramon on Twitter recently, the man looks ill...very ill. Looks a shadow of his former self...

Was gutted when I heard this.

A hero of mine when I was a kid.

Wrestlers back in the day were all injecting steroids, it was the done thing, that's why they are all dropping down dead with heart attacks.

Apart from Benoit who murdered his wife and bairn then hanged himself - it all leads back to steroids though.

TBF though, the wwe has a "wellness programme" now, they wont accept steroid/drug abuse.

Scott Hall has actually cleaner himself up big time lately.

This was him a few months ago, shocking documentary.

I can see what your saying , Though if i recall i think scott hall/razor remon got help from ddp(a fellow wrestler)

as for your statement i think that is only sometihng like 95% true

I think owen hart being the exception,From what i ahve read he was pretty anti drugs and his death had nothing to do with drugs, steroids.
Im unsure about andre the giant, if he took drugs or anything

The steroids thing is a bit of a myth IMO. Doesn't help I will grant you, but there are many wrestlers who have died young who you wouldn't think have been too involved with steroids - Andre, Big Boss Man for 2 I can think of.

There's also the drinking and other factors with wrestlers, and there are many who took steroids who are still going, Hogan being the obvious one in that regard.

Steroids or not and regardless what folk say about it being fake; these guys put their bodies through it on a daily basis. Its relentless and the injuries mount up, a lot of the time its their hearts that give as it cant keep up.

The warrior was my fav as a kid, along with the legion of doom and the bulldog.....really sad that they are almost all gone :'(

I watched that documentary 'Bigger, Faster, Stronger'. Interesting if you want further insight into steroid use.
