The FACTS? Are you really sure they're the FACTS?

Bullied? Butcher takes a hard line with these sloths and it's bullying. Our players don't need to knuckle down and tow the line because they know that if they don't like what they're being told to do then all they have to do is throw the dummy out the pram and the manager is on his way. No manager stands a chance at ER so long as it's them running the show.

This vicious circle has to be broken sooner rather than later but as long as the bedwetters rule the roost it'll continue evermore. Nobody can be sure how it'll turn out with Butcher, but if he's punted because we bottle it again then his successor will suffer the same fate. That's constantly banging your head against the wall

Nail on the head.

Explain then why Butcher played Cairney who was obviously unfit and looks as fat as ever, and continually playing a demoralised Craig and also McGivern a player who should be dropped nit only forbhus performances but also his lifestyle.

Pretty sure the same was said about PF when he came and look how that turned out. The point being the vast majority of us don't know what is really happening behind the scenes and can only hope he will get it right.

He does not have many options. These guys won't be near the first team next season.

Not by me. I thought Fenlon was absolutely clueless. I can't remember any stories coming out of East Mains about players complaining about increased workloads etc.

Ignoring the Butcher debate for a minute re the bit in bold. Are you saying the previous managers were forced out by bedwetters (one of my favourite terms on this site by the way) and should have been given longer ? Are you honestly trying to tell me we should have stuck with PF or Calderwood longer ? If anything we stuck with them longer than we should have. Same as Calsberg asked, exactly who did we get rid off too early ?

And back to Butcher how many are genuinely suggesting he be sacked ? A number of us are questioning his time so far and legitimately in my opinion, but that doesn't equate to saying we want him sacked now.

I can guarantee that the players, quite predictably, are not happy at being bullied / threatened / slated in the press by. Butcher and Malpas on training ground. They do not rate this team. I am flabbergasted when I was told this as I think. Butcher always speaks well in the press and was over the moon when we managed to secure this management team. I agree they need to get their own team on the park and have been left a pile of posh but really sad to hear that players are thinking this way.

I think the sad thing about it is that there's one very easy way to stop the shouting, and that's to buckle down and do what you're told.

If my boss had cause to go radge at me, I'd make sure I was never in that position again, I certainly wouldn't spit the dummy and give them cause to shout at me more.

I don't think anyone likes being shouted at, and people don't like being told to do things, but historically football managers have shouted at football players. Ferguson was famous for the hairdrier treatment, for instance.

The players need to understand their role in it though, if they're getting shouted at it's because they are giving reason for it, if they learn and do the right things then you can guarantee that Butcher and Malpas will praise them for it - you only need to see the relationship they had with the ICT players to know that's the case.

They are professional sportsmen and the fact that they are should be motivation enough to improve. That they "may" be complaining about it, given our results, would suggest they shouldn't be here in the first place.

If they are unhappy at Terry Butcher I would have loved to see what they would have made of Jim Telfer.

Was just thinking how interesting it may have been had TB actually become our manager at the time of the infamous 'Fenlon out - Butcher in' thread of last season.

:top marks It seems ironic that some on here that are happy to slaughter players but are outraged at the fact TB has.
