Does anyone have a file of this b&w photo, taken at George's home debut v Partick Thistle in December 1979, where he leads the team out holding the ball? Theres' s a cropped version of it on google images, im looking for the larger shot with a lot of the crowd in the background.

Thanks in advance :aok:

If I recall correctly, George was last man out that day? after a wee pause from the stadium announcer George came trotting out to be greeted by some 21,000 disbelieving hibees.. but then again might be my memory playing tricks:greengrin

I dunno if this counts as a lot of the crowd but The Scotsman have a watermarked one you can buy:

I love the fact that Benny is right behind him. Kind of emphasises how mental it was that Best was playing for us.

I got a fag burn in the old east terracing that day. Got crushed and the fag was burning my hand but was so busy I couldn't move it for a second or so. Might be the biggest crowd I have seen at ER since I started going in the mid/late 70s.

I was on the old east terracing that day too. I think it was reported the crowd was 21,000. IMO there was a lot more than that in ER that day.
