I can't work out if our players are indifferent, clueless, scared, jaded or just all four.

What this club needs in the close season is a sports psychologist and a complete mental overhaul. The squad isn't as good as it should be and there are too many similar or average players but there is no way that the players we do have should be playing this poorly.

But I go back to my point that I brought up a few days ago Hearts have bad players. We're worse than simply having bad players. They're bad players that don't appear to grasp the basic fundamentals of the game. We rely on direct punts up front, hoping for a lucky break, rather than actually trying to play football. And coaching has to shoulder some of the blame for this. These players don't look as if they're being taught how to play football at all. That's how bad it is.

For them to press higher then the defence has to push higher as well IMO, otherwise they'll be gaps left. I think Butcher will have his team playing higher next year, but we aren't at the moment due to the quality of our players.
