Dundee Utd and Killie recently done debt reduction deals with the bank. Anyone know what was in it for the bank? Can Hibs benefit from such a deal, oh and apparently Hearts will be debt free shortly.

I suspect this was probably implemented by the banks rather than the clubs. The funders have obviously identified that Scottish football's cash raising ability is limited and sought to reduce their losses by way of these deals

As I understand it the clubs got funding from other sources to pay off the banks. I suspect the banks gave a sizeable discount on the debts in return for early payment of debts that probably looked quite vulnerable. 'Mr Romanov' did likewise when he bought HoMFC (IA) but initially he did not pass that discount on to the club.
