Ok, so I'm basing this purely on the highlights that are available to me in the US, but it does appear that this lad pulls off a number of impressive saves per game. Is this someone we should take a serious look at if the Ben Williams rumors are to be believed?

Not for me either. Decent shot stopper but nothing else.

Like I said, I only get to see the highlights. I guess when you play for a team as rank as hearts, you're going to get a lot of shots to stop.

Would gladly take him as backup/someone to put pressure on the number one keeper.

He's a decent SPL keeper. That's it. I wouldnt say no but I would want to do better.

No better than Williams. But would be a safe enough replacement if Williams still intends to leave.

Damn right I'd take him.

People have some really unrealistic expectations when it comes to goalkeepers. Perfect keepers who are strong in all departments only play for any one of two teams in Scotland nowadays. If they do happen to play for anyone else they will get noticed and leave.

McDonald is a decent keeper and would be an asset for any SPL team.

He's an average goalkeeper imo, he wouldn't be in top 5 best keepers in Scotland. The fact that he plays for that lot means I don't want us to sign him.

Depends who else is available at the time. Not sure he has the ambition to move up to a bigger club.

Even back in his QOS loan days (were Hearts encouraging others to cheat back then?) I thought he was a pretty decent keeper. Keepers are by nature mad, so his insistence in performing the 5-1 hand trick every time he's asked would kill him at this club. First mistake he'd be Tortollano, Hamilton.......Stevenson, Nish and Hanlon rolled into 1.

Would defo take him. He would be a solid replacement if Ben does not sign.

Too many fans would not accept him so not for me.

Yet another keeper who can't come for crosses and often finds himself in no man's land between the goal line and six yard box, so no for me.

Yes, I'd take him. On a par with Williams IMO

Defo. Sign him on pre contract if it was possible.
That'd really annoy the twonks.

Would rather we went for Kello

Yes, I'd take him. On a par with Williams IMO

Is he better than Kello as he will be available in summer .However Given Marsella is Scout and Goalkeeping coach you would have to think he will have someone earmarked for that Position. However given our recent History with Keepers of distinctly poor quality making Howlers on Tellie and getting club ridiculed he needs to get that one right first time.Williams has been first decent keeper we have had in ages.

I would be surprised if the big team allowed the wee team to pinch one their top players, but if we have to replace a departing Ben Williams then I think he would be a decent option. My strong preference would be to keep Ben though and if it means we have to offer him better money then we should. He is the best keeper we have had for a long time and I think people are starting to forget how many times we have seen our keepers go to pieces, especially against Hearts.

I agree.

He is good enough to play for us. OK there are better keepers out there, but we are more likely to spend the next few seasons replacing dud after dud while we try to find one.

So on ability alone I'd take him, however the point you make means that I don't think it would ever work.

He isn't first choice keeper there Samson is so I wouldn't want to take a risk on him .may if Murdoch doesn't get new contract he could a good back up that could give more competition to first choice keeper as we don't have that at present .

He's average at best IMO and is not the answer. Hibs haven't had a really good goalkeeper for many years now. Williams is a decent shot stopper but doesn't command the 6 yard box. Poor under cross balls. We haven't got the money to attract a really top class keeper I'm afraid. When was the last time a keeper came through the youth system into the first team?

I hope he has because he's not good enough & IMO neither is McDonald. As BH & I have posted on many occasions there are countless experienced & excellent keepers in England. As a recent example, Dundee then Newco snapped up Steve Simonsen for nothing.

While it might be fun to patronize Hearts as our 'feeder club' if you pick a feeder clubs that's ***** you end up that way yourself, so no thanks.

I only get to see him when they are on the telly, or against us. My personal opinion is he looks decent, and would be an adequate replacement, but because he plays for them i don't think he'd be welcome.
