Wow! Never saw that coming!! Love him or loathe him he stuck to his guns in an age of people courting public adoration. A massive Millwall fan as well, very sad as he was so young!

Never shared his views but that is sad news. 52 is no age.
Was it a cardiac?!?
RIP.

I suppose there is a few ways to do that and not sure I agreed with most (all?) of his approach but none the less you had to respect his tenacity and drive to do what he believed in. Few if any if his type left and to pass away at 52 is a shocking piece of news.

Being an rmt member and active rep at work I'm shocked and saddened by this news. A real leader always thought for his members rights, never backed down and stood his ground. On the couple of occasions I met him on picket lines or at courses I attended I can say he was was an absolute gent to talk to
RIP Brother Crow

Agreed, meet him a couple of times but had a decent chat with him when he was up for an 'Independence Referendum' debate in the RAF club at the tail end of last year.
I can't say we agreed on everything but there was no doubting his passion, his pride in his East end roots and his unwavering socialist outlook.
An absolute gentleman!

I've known Bob a good few years, did not always agree with him but was always good company. He's even been to support Hibs in the past.
RIP Comrade

Backing up Hermit Crow's thoughts as a fellow RMT member.I think he's a bigger loss to the whole union movement and workers' rights in general than just us . I can't think of anyone who speaks up for the workers in this country like he did and don't think there's anyone I'd rather have in my corner. Johnson, Cameron and salmond were all too scared to go head to head with him in a proper debate and he was hated and feared by the Murdoch and right wing press. That shows his achievements for me.
RIP Brother

Saddened by this news. I liked Crow, and defended him in a debate after his holiday to Brazil only a few weeks back. RIP.

I saw him on telly just a couple of Sundays ago, as he ripped the piss out of Andrew Neil.
A fine socialist and spokesman for the Labour movement, taken far too soon. His tenacity on behalf of his members was a refreshing backlash against the neo-liberal consensus. He was charismatic and a bit cheeky - a real character.
R.I.P Bob. I'm saddened by this news.

Bob was a close friend and we are all devastated in the RMT at this tragic loss. It is literally like losing a brother.
Messages of condolence have been pouring in from all over the world. He meant a lot to working people and he always stood up for his principles no matter what. A tireless campaigner - he never stopped. We often told him to calm it down but he never slowed down.
Lost track of the number of rank and file members he freely gave his mobile number to. He wanted members to be able to contact him - he was truly a man of the people.
He was a great leader who helped build our union from 53,000 to 80,500 strong and at the same time he inspired countless people with his genuine working class spirit. He was also a family man with a heart of gold.
He loved his times watching Hibs incidentally. Both occasions we beat Rangers and I have a great memory of Bob in the old shed where section 43 now is. Hard to forget when Bob lands on you!!
RIP Bob Crow

A very nice tribute, mate. I'm sorry for the loss suffered by all who knew him and also the loss to the trade union movement . Gone far too soon.

We are all devastated by this news. However we will continue to fight for the rights of our brothers and sisters in the work place and remember Bob for what he done for us. From llc level to company council, branch secretary's and so on we'll keep going. Solidarity brothers and sisters.

Agreed with him more often than I disagreed, and he fought like a bear for his union members.

Agreed, you have put into words what I was thinking. He just seemed like a bloke you could trust.
