In the spirit of fair play, the eleven opposing players, the manager, the chairman, Michel Platini, the Pope, Jesus, the ghost of Princess Diana, and Shaquille O'Neal all implored the referee not to award them a penalty, as the Hibs defender clearly hadn't committed a foul.

Craig Thomson chose to stick with his original decision.

As much as I have respect for both players in that video. I would never blame a player for not doing what they did, you sometimes take what you're given.

Unsure what you meant there, but for me the chap Hunt was a little bit heroic.

It happened a few years ago in England when David Seaman "fouled" Robbie Fowler in the box and Fowler looked embarrassed about going down so easily. Don't think the ref changed his mind though, despite the objections.

On a side note, can I applaud the hairdo of the other guy involved. Shaved to the bone on top and long at the back and sides. Good job, that man's barber! :not worth

Somehow I don't think the same would happen if they weren't two up at the time

He didn't. Fowler intentionally took a bad penalty which Seamen then ballsed up and someone ran in and scored a rebound.

Not that I've ever seen. And even if a hearts player admitted to Craig Thompson there was no foul, Craig Thompson still wouldn't change his mind.

I can remember some Hibs players, notably Joe T, arguing with the ref at ibrox when he booked Gascoigne after Gascoigne had first "booked" the ref when returning a dropped yellow card.

His team were leading 2-0 at the time.... The cynic in me says his reaction may have been a tad different if they were 1-0 down or it was 0-0... Might be doing the lad a disservice though. Good on him, don't see it very often.

I was meaning that i don't blame the 99 percent who dont own up. Fair play to Hunt, but had it been 0-0 and my team needed to win I'd be a tad annoyed he passed up the penalty.

He admitted he 'contrived' the penalty after the defender pulled out.
So he should have been booked then.

Skillz for fooling the ref, balls for admitting he conned him (and looks like a diving barsteward in slow motion)
At 2-0 up it was a luxury he could afford. Losing or drawing the game, call me a cynic :greengrin, but I suspect he wouldn't have done the same.

Was thinking this myself, refreshing to see nonetheless.
